I was thinking about redownloding Halo 3 to play. Does anyone know how many players might be playing these days? Thanks!
100-150 max. The only active playlists are lone wolves and team slayer. It’s literally impossible to find anyone in other playlists.
Social slayer is the most populated to be honest. Usually you will find a match in this playlist at most times.
The most I’ve seen this year is 150-200. The playlist with the biggest population is probably lone wolves.
are you refering to xbox 360 or xbox one mcc playlists?
The most I’ve seen recently(1-2 weeks) was about 2300, but that was late on a Saturday night.
I have a bit of money in my MS account, I was thinking of getting Gold again, pretty much just for Halo 3, should I even bother? I probably won’t play much ranked, cause my favorite playlist “Swat” is most likely dead.

He’s talking about the 360 version.
Answering the OP, there aren’t many people playing. As far as I know, there’s only 2 playlists you can find people: Lone Wolves and Social Slayer.
Beware: The people in the game are just overwhelmingly good.
Couple hundred. Not much
A few hundred. Social Slayer is really the only playable playlist.
Downloaded Halo Online on PC - the one basing on the cancelled project tested in Russia - and it works, there are people playing it. The user interface is clunky as hell and at times by pattern it all reminds me of Xtreme Developers productions [Space Jet, Code of War, Future Tanks] - the microtransaction nuke MMO - but the gameplay is solid enough and it is for free, without any overt installations. Also the field of vision is at least 90 degrees wide, which is an argument against the Halo5 Forge. Besides, it looks just more simple than the Halo5 Forge, albeit if the latter one was to counter attack, it sure would have some serious points to make, nonetheless, both the games are allright at best, y’know, these are simply arena shooters, nothing out of ordinary.
Just a reminder that discussion of Halo Online versions from unofficial sources is not allowed on Waypoint, as it falls under modded content

I knew that but is it okay to post a link to the trailer for Halo Online at any point or no? Just so I know for future reference

Good to know. Thanks!
I remember the good days when everyone had a blast online with Halo. 100,000’s players.

Minding what stckrboy said, let me only hint that I think the pace of play in Halo5 Forge is way too dynamic, especially for that fixed narrow FOV it employs, making the action feel chaotic, hindering the joy of participation.
Absolutely!! I just created a Company revolved around the old Halo games! Reach, Halo 3 and I put Halo 4 as well because it’s still some what of a good game to represent stat wise on my profile here. I just can’t mess around with 5. If you’d like to join let me know brother!! Delta 331 See you on the battlefield spartan!!
Hard to tell really but once when i was playing it said over 1,000 were playing!
Ive been finding it has peak times. Mostly its a couple hundred or so, but i’ve seen it around 1000 closer to the weekend. That saying if the counter is still right.
