I have recently unlocked the 29 audio logs in the Mombasa streets and I have been trying to unlock the 30th log but every time I try the officer keeps dying when I drop down when he is suppose to follow.

I’m not entirely sure this will help, but it might. Are you starting the mission “Data Hive” where the 30th audio log is found in? If so, then try starting the mission “Mombasa Streets” on the last checkpoint (or the checkpoint when you’re told to go to the location where “Data Hive” takes place at). That might help, since the “Mombasa Streets” mission is where the other 29 logs are at, and maybe finishing that mission and it leading into “Data Hive” might do something.
If that doesn’t help, then try the box standard Xbox One hard reset.

Actually, he’s invincible until you fight the Drones. I would recommend to wait for the Drones to attack you, kill them and then drop down.
Also, a lower difficulty may help.
