I think they should be unlocked for all players owning the game when you log in in game, so players would be allowed to get 1000g even when matchmaking isn’t working. 343 can do this now, because its impossible to find some gametypes.
Then how would it be an “achievement”?

The whole point of achievements is to earn them. You have plenty of time to gather a group of people and get them. If anything was to happen, and it is highly unlikely that it will as there are around a hundred legacy multiplayer achievements, the best thing would be to tweak the requirements so that they can be achieved in Custom Games.

I can certainly see where you’re coming from, but that’s not how it works, or how it should work. Going by that reasoning, imagine there’s a major that has been discontinued and you can’t find a similar one elsewhere. Do you expect to get that degree once you enroll because it’s no long unobtainable? What about the people before you who had to spend all those years working/earning it? I know that seems unfair to those that came after but wouldn’t that be even MORE unfair for the people before it?
Granted, I’m not sure if my analogy between a game achievement vs something in real life is a great example and all so apologize in advance, but you kind of see what I’m trying to convey by what you said.
Oh absolutely not. What’s the point of having achievements if 343 just hands them out like candy? No they need be earned, that’s where the satisfaction comes from. If someone isn’t willing to find people to get the achievements then they don’t really want them. It’s not terribly difficult.
I believe there is nothing more heartbreaking than unobtainables, and the loss of H2 Vistas and the windows phone achievements for the community is something that I hope 343 is able to remedy one day.
Giving out the achievements for “free” is the absolute worse solution however. It completely devalues the entire concept for those who aleady went through the trials in order to actually achieve those achievements in the first place.

I also want to second this. The TA community is the only reason I have been able to get my halo GS as high as it is. Beyond just boosting sessions they are great at advice and support with many of the harder challenges. Some seriously committed gamers and those boards and while some may be a tad awkward at times (not that I can throw any stones in that glass house) they are all great natured and genuinely seem to enjoy helping each other out.

Yes of corse only MP archivments doesn’t unlock at December 2021
The main purpose of achievements is that it should be rewards for completing a specific task. The only consequence of giving out achievements for free would be to devalue the effort that some players spend to unlock some of these achievements.
