I got Odst yesterday and it came with a h3 multiplayer disk, which maps set or set is it, and do I need to install in hd to use it?

It’s all the multiplayer maps for Halo 3. If you don’t want to keep putting the disk in, install it to your HDD and enjoy all the Halo 3 multiplayer.
Bungie did that for the people that didn’t have all of the Halo 3 multiplayer maps yet. It was a bonus with ODST.
Don’t install Halo 3 Mythic to your hard drive, it actually increased load times rather than decreases because Halo 3 was made before the install to HDD feature was introduced.

Agreed. Also, the only way to add the maps to your console, allowing you to play them with the Halo 3 disc is to actually buy the maps. It’s not like many “Game of the Year” editions that actually give you the option to install the DLC to your console, (Or even like Halo 2’s Multiplayer Map Pack disc) you actually need the disc to use the content.
