I’ve seen a few topics about the recent Plasma Rifle spotting in Warzone FF Teaser (Brute Plasma Rifle Spotted in Warzone Firefight Reveal - Imgur). However, I think people haven’t gotten it wayyyyy off the mark, talking about Brutes returning, all the different plasma rifle variant possibilities, if this means other brute weapons or other ‘classic’ weapons will come back…
I think it’s all very simple. Before Ghosts of Meridian, there were two updates that highlighted "Classic’ mythic weapons being added to the REQ Pool: The Halo 2 Battle Rifle and the Halo One Pistol.
These are standalone weapons, with no variants. The BR is loadout level 4 mythic, God Magnum is a Level 6 Power Weapon REQ with speed boost. Both are available in Forge/Customs.
Based on 343i’s track record of adding content (Map or 2, a set of weapon variants, and perhaps one ‘new’ weapon, plus filler), I think it will simply be a Halo 3: ODST Plasma Rifle Mythic Power Weapon for Warzone. Now, this timing would be weird if it came out Memories of Reach, I’ll give you that. But this would exactly fit in with what they have already done.
What do you guys think? I really don’t think they’ll step on the toes of their precious STORM RIFLE variants, so releasing a classic mythic with only one variant follows the pattern and makes the most sense.
To make it a power weapon and mythic quality, it would have both speed boost and damage boost. 1.1x zoom that increases accuracy significantly. Other than that, some ol reliable PR from ODST.
