Hi, When ever I play matchmaking in Halo 3 my connection is always horrible. When I look at the connection bars beside my name, its usually on the lowest bar and it is red. I cannot play a good game because the connection is always so bad. The funny thing is that when I play Halo Reach, my connection is always great. In Halo Reach, the connection bars beside my name are always at the highest and they are green. I don’t think I have a bad internet modem or there is a problem with my Xbox Live. Because Halo Reach matchmaking works fine, It is only Halo 3 that has a bad connection. Please help!

Unfortunately, with the reduced population, there is a greater chance that the host your console connects to is further away from you. And Halo 3’s netcode isn’t the greatest compared to, say, Reach’s. I have no issues playing Reach, but Halo 3 is generally laggy as hell!

Your ‘bar’ in H3 is not necessarily your connection it is the ‘packets’ recieved status…so even though it shows you on red it could be anyone else in the game causing you to not recieve the data fr/host.
