Hey I was just wondering if anyone could help me or point me in the right direction but I was playing halo 3 with my katana chest piece on and when I was done my katana and security helmet were both gone. I had earned the 1000 gamer-score legit and they just vanished out of my armory. Also I’m a little mad because i spent a lot of time on getting the achievements. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out and also I have been waiting for recon for a long time and all of my friends have it so I’m a little jealous. So if anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction that would be great thanks.
Try completing just one achievement more. See if that works. Hopefully more people will have more ideas.
If that doesn’t work, then just remember that katana doesn’t show skill. U R GOOD WIDOUT IT. u can still pwn n00bz

Thanks for your help I just got the triple kill achievement and my katana is still gone but thats true about the skillz thing also I havent reseved recon and it kinda urgs me. I will keep trying to get more achievements and I will see if that unlocks it again for me.

You need to unlock the original 49 Halo 3 achievements for the Katana permanently unlock.
The same thing happened to my Security when I got one of the new achievements after the title update. It came back after I got another one.
The 1000 Gamerscore has to be from having all of the 49 original achievements. If you have 1000 Gamerscore but not all 49 original achievements it will temporarily unlock but relock until the correct achievements are completed. There was a huge thread on this over on Bungie.net years ago when the legendary map pack was released.

This happened to me with security shoulders, but I secured a few more achievements, and they have not glitched back since.

I got the Katana without 1000GS in Halo 3, but some of the DLC score leaked in and I passed 1000 and still unlocked it. I also got recon armor for some reason. Isn’t that bungie only armor?

No it is not-- Recon has/maybe still is being distributed to everyone. At one point in time you couldn’t get it unless Bungie personally gave it to you, but ever since ODST came out it has been obtainable for the normal player.
