Halo 3 is the best, but Infinite will blow it away

Halo 3 being the holy grail of the series isn’t forgotten but
seriously, this is going to be ahhhhmaaazing and already I believe it’ll meet greater expectations than we expect as well as more sales. Ths hype is real, knock it outta the park 343:grimacing::metal:

I wonder how many said the same about .halo 4 and halo 5 prior to each launch .

Temper your expectations until you have it in your hands and can make a reliable and informed opinion about the ganes quality or lack thereof would be my advice .

I’ve enjoyed all installments of the Series equally. There will always be new mechanics in each game that Spartans will have opposite opinions on. Hopefully a majority of the users in the waypoint community will be given a chance for a flight so they can balance out issues/complaints to fine tune the multiplayer before launch.

I have to disagree, Halo 4 looked awful from the multiplayer reveals. They revealed so many different things that were unfortunately so removed from the Halo franchise and arena games in general. Many players were immediately put off and worried and they were justified. I don’t want to dog 343 too much, I enjoyed the campaign thought it was very fun and enjoyed the story. The multiplayer was just awful though.

Barely anything is revealed, so it’s easy to get excited. What has been revealed is pretty positive and more importantly what they’ve said in the reveals sounds very promising too. The maps look good, gameplay looks solid and I think we are in for a good time. I just hope time to kill isn’t too fast as it looks pretty fast in trailers and ultimately this will put a lot of casual players off. Hopefully big team isn’t dominated by precision weapons either.

Halo 5 is a very fun game and really good competitively, but it doesn’t have the social charm to Halo 3 or 4. If this game has found a nice balance in between it will be magnificent. I genuinely believe in them after what they have learnt in the process of making 4, 5 and MCC.

We do know about the troubled dev cycle . Poor reveal and subsequent delay as well the 11th hour Joe statton hail Mary play .
I’ll continue to say I’ll reserve judgement until.I’m playing the final product 343s batting average tells that’s the smart play .

You know 6 years ago, just before Halo 5 launched, I said the exact same thing on this forum. Years later I look back on that comment and think to myself how ridiculous I was for making such a bold claim before I had even played the full game (As I had played the beta at this point). Halo 5 stank. And I stank for pulling the trigger too early on that thought. It was Naive. and dare I say, stupid.

Though today I can safely say, without a doubt, that Halo Infinite will be the best Halo ever, even beating my favorite Halo. Halo 3. It will return me to my young, carefree youth and make me happy again.

I hope you are correct, nothing has come close to Halo 3. I usually don’t get hyped about upcoming games but I am feeling it this time with infinite.

Halo 4 was meh, Halo 5 wasn’t that much better, ODST laughable at most… All the thins we’ve seen for Infinite destroys those 3 titles already and it we’re here still waiting. Microsoft isn’t about too let their flagship sink like the other cash grabs, they didn’t wait and prolong the game for what almost 2 years just for a bland pos game. With all that being said. I just played Halo 3… It’s awful and doesn’t hold up to anything that we have now released… Clearly you didn’t buy Halo 3 on launch which I did, the anticipation was nuts. Now we’re an free to play Halo\2042 style game, not counting the campaign, but then again there are ppl who don’t even play the campaign (assuming ur 1 of them) and they judge a portion of the game. Halo 3 has the best story but the gameplay is crap. Infinite if you actually will play the whole game and not just 2 or 3 online matches and rage quit cause ya suck, doesn’t make the bad, it’s all you. Halo 4 was superivsed by Bungie, also think about 343 and the fact that they took over a franchise and we’re limited at time due to many factors, mainly bot screwing up the name Halo. 343 are finally stepping out of the mold and are making something different to appease a wider audience…Not you. Then you have cod whom makes the same game every year, which they ripped off EA from Battlefield which prior was medal of honor… You’re garbage can go to Raven and get Activision to for a stale product that an never come close to even Halo 1. Hackers, aim bots etc. Do we have that here, of course but the difference is 343 will actually do something and not let accounts get hacked like what’s happening now. Settle down, breath and if you don’t like it, give ur flight to someone DESERVING of it. Clearly ur just here 4 the free stuff. Karenator 2.0

Dude if Phil Spenser straight up told 343 wtf is this bs, and to put in more work but the other 1s we’re rushed, rest assured the $ Microsoft is loosing in investment for just 1 game. Speaks volumes. We’re not gonna get a wwe2k20. Have faith and somewhat of 60% trust since we’re the voices being heard to perfect this game to brIng the franchise a new life. Look at it this way, 2k has the same game every year, but 343 took the time to say F’it !! We gotta delive all while Phil is whipping’em wiih a whip practically If you know something is wrong and not right, speak up, they do listen and take output for input very seriously. We should be in safe hands and we’re not… We all know what’ll happen… No more 343. This is our time to get the game we deserve and want. I trust Phil Spencer  enjoy the flight, get hyped about it and just forget. What could be to what will be. Kick some A** Spartan!!

Halo 4 sucked. Only the ending was killer, the controls are horrid as if a 5 year old put them together, Halo 5 is a glorified cash grab. We never asked or wanted Nathan Fillion like ever… Halo 7 will have a dlc of John Cena but no one wiilll see him…Meaning they over paid 4 a -Yoink- and the results were proven crap. Now they’re going in the right direction if the screw up this bad boy rest assured 343 is finished here, but they’re doing everything that they can to not let that happen and now more than ever they need our opinions since they’re catering to us. If you don’t like something speak up or face the music.

if you have a D level “ccelebrity” as a main character of a long running franchise, some things are dire wrong and that’s so we forget the bs that we’re not speaking of and about because :man_shrugging: if you have 60% of the group saying it’s crap they’re gonna change it. If were silent jokes on us. Also we should all feel a sense of appreciation since NO ig company would never recruit so many ppl, and let us have some “pull”.

You misspelled Halo 2.

For me CE is king. These days I can’t play Halo 3 for long because the core gunplay annoys me too much, but CE is the one I keep coming back to.

I disagree about halo 5, aside from the pathetic excuse of a campaign, the multiplayer was actually super fun. But im more into fast pace halo style so maybe thats why i liked it. FYI ive been playing halo since 2008 so I do have a fair amount of experience with most the halos. I think the main problem however with the multiplayer is that initially it was contentless, there was like 7 game modes and thats it. If todays halo 5 multiplayer existed during launch, i think most people say that the halo 5’s multiplayer is one of the best. But yeah campaign was not good.

Yeah I loved 5 too for the gameplay. The only thing I liked about 4’s at the time was Dominion, 90% of my playtime was dedicated to Big Team and when it was still around, Ricochet. Today… Well, I don’t know what it is but coming back to the MCC and playing 4 actually felt… Good. Fun. Enjoyable. I didn’t enjoy Squad Slayer or much other than Big Team back then, but today it’s actually felt nice. I started with CE as well, and I still like playing CE.

I agree the campaign was “Eh” at best, minus the audio logs and anything pertaining to Buck and/or Blue Team, but playing through it felt fun. But it is still my least replayed Halo game haha; I enjoy 2, 4, and Reach for my replays most of the time.

I was being hyperbolic for the joke. Halo 5’s multiplayer is good, lacking in charm but it’s definitely got the makings of an extremely well devd esports shooter. Campaign was fun but nothing special.

I’m most likely going to like infinite more than 3, bc tbh Halo 3’s multiplayer has kind of aged poorly for me. Its unpopular but I prefer 4 more than 3. I like 4 and 5’s gameplay more than 3. So it’s like a given at this point.

For me personally to be the apex Halo. Campaign will have to be better than Halo CE (although can’t lie H3 Scarab battles and the levels The Covenant and The Ark were :ok_hand:t6:).

And multiplayer better than H3… I am optimistic based on what’s been shown though! However the campaign is the bigger question mark here, as we’ve seen v little.

We don’t know how the maps play.
We don’t know how many maps there are.
We don’t know how effective their anti-cheat will be.
We should not assume the servers and lobbies will run smoothly.
This is 343s first game they have built for PC from the ground up.
There has been no confirmation on the release date of key community features such as forge, theater or custom browser.
We have literally zero information on playlists, ranks and matchmaking.

And this is only the multiplayer.

While 343 have clearly demonstrated that Halo Infinite is taking a step in the right direction, we should all reserve judgement until we have played the game ourselves. There are a lot of big questions yet to be answered about this game, and if answered insufficiently, we may not have a good game at all, let alone one which rivals any from the trilogy, like some people here seem to think is a foregone conclusion.
