I Like it and all, but i think other halo’s are so much better!
It was my first game, and i loved it, but after playing CE and 2, i think it was the worst in the original trilogy. It is my least favorite First person Halo. Reach and 2A are my Joint first, 5 Guardians close second.
Honest;y though, i feel that It is the worst FPS halo ever. I however Love 3 ODST. But 3, no way. Not even an anniversary with remastered graphics could fix it. It is however my first Halo, but Reach is what made the click for me. Firefight, Great Forge, Great Campaign, Great Game modes (Living Dead, Invasion, Team Snipers, Also all my cousins and brother liked this game, i also made friends with it.
But Halo 3 is so bad compared to other halo games. Honestly. I Wouldn’t mind a remastered anniversary edition, however i’d probably get bored half way through the campaign and get bored of Multiplayer really fast.
It’s my favorite purely because of nostalgia and all of the great memories it has brought. Nothing will change that.
That being said, I hated playing the multiplayer after MCC came out. It was too slow (compared to all the Halos, not just H5) and the netcode is still terrible.
I feel the opposite with Reach and Halo 3.
I love Halo 3 and is definitely one of my favorite Halo titles to date. Reach felt too out of place, and had so many issues, both campaign and MP, that just threw me out of a loop.
I prefer Reach over 3 because it feels more…organic. Halo 3 has that kinda plastic feel to it that I dont really dig.
For my, was the best…but, i don´t like on the master chief collection…

H3 arguably had the best campaign in the entire franchise. Not to mention I loved the brute vehicle and the Hornet. Just curious though, how would you rank Halo 4?

Halo 3 imo is the king, it separated social and competitive gameplay perfectly, high skill gap, endless fun. It gave us forge and theater mode and after looking at what 343 has done for halo we have to admit this was a huge peak. love h2a, h2 and reach is 8/10 imo. H4 was good for casual play and had a solid campaign but H5 was a huge letdown.
Halo Reach made me love Halo. I played alot of Halo 3 however, aside from its campaign, nothing compelled me to stay. Gameplay was too stiff for me to cope with.
This sort of thing is always based in subjective emotional bias. Objective standards of performance and gameplay are only part of what makes a great game.
Do you as an individual resonate with the story, the atmosphere, the design aesthetic? During what period of your life did you first experience it? The conditions of your life at the time of experiencing something will certainly affect how you experience and receive it. This is why so many of us consider games from our childhood to be the best. We experienced them during a time before we became slaves to sexual desire and working to survive.
the best for me is Halo 2
Halo 3 is fantastic to this day, I remember hooking up my friends TV and 360 to complete legendary. My second favourite after 5!

Well finally it ends in the case of taste for some people the best game while not for others .
I think that halo 3 had the best matchmaking but I personally did not like the campaign.
Halo 3 was the best Halo to me.

Halo 2 was the best halo game out of all on halo 2a and halo 2 great multiplayer and a very re playable campain
Halo 3 has the best campaign, just beating its spinoff ODST. But I think I’ll agree with OP and say the multiplayer of that game is crap.
