Hey guys I just logged into MCC on PC today and selected the option to install Halo 3 Campaign and Multiplayer. Both finished but when I go to play online, it still says Halo 3 in not installed… Anyone have this issue?

Steam or MS Store version? Try rebooting your PC and see if it is playable afterwards.

MS Store Version through GamePass. Reinstalled the game and gamepass app but now i just get a black screen during bootup.

Something weird is going on obviously. Are your graphics drivers up to date? Does the black screen go away after the game loads or can you never get past it? I’m on the steam version and my knowledge of the MS Store is limited. Your game pass subscription is active and current right? I’d check that out as maybe it locks you out if there is a billing problem or something.
graphic drivers are all up to date
black screen comes up right after the 343 logo disappears
game pass info is all current and valid and I can play other game pass games no problem

If you are running on steam there are two separate installs (which is just stupid by design). There is the steam update then there is an in game update. You might be missing the in game -second- update.

I’m the same way, I posted on reddit and saw suggestions like restart your PC; Redownload Halo 3; Download the campaign first, then download the multiplayer; and make sure Halo 3 is downloaded on the same drive as MCC. I’ve tried all of these and they haven’t worked for me, but I hope they do work for you.

So you are still unable to play the H3 multiplayer component or have you found a fix? I suggest running a steam files integrity check of the MCC content if you are a steam user. There might be something missing in your main game preventing H3 from being detected as installed.
