I’ve been in several achievement hunting sessions for Halo 3 for the last few weeks, mostly focusing on the Infection-based achievements. Any time we try to click Rumble Pit, it will immediately say “Information could no t be retrieved from Xbox LIVE” then would crash the game, freeze, or boot players out of the game back to the xbox home screen. You can’t even switch out of the playlist if it doesn’t boot you back to the home screen; it says Playlist: (Loading…), but give no option to switch it, resulting in having to go to your Halo 3 “Manage game and add-ons” > saved data > reserved space > Clear Reserved Space just to get back into the game and off that playlist.
I know all the Legacy servers have been having issues since the Infinite Tech Preview, but would hope there is a fix for the Rumble Pit Playlist so everyone can wrap up their achievements for Halo 3! Thank you!
EDIT: I was told that the 7 on 7 playlist may give you the infection game BRAIIINS which will work for the infection-based achievements, but that it may take awhile to actually get the playlist! Keep searching and hope for the best! GLHF!
AUGUST EDIT:
As of August 30th 2021, the Rumble Pit Playlist is working again! I saw several Braiiins playlist on different infection maps so go for it!

SEPTEMBER EDIT: I wrote updated guides on True Achievements for both Delicious Brains and Zombie Repeller! You’ll have to scroll down just a little and you’ll see the Pink “B” logo and BenderWin as the poster! Both links basically have the same solution, its just a matter of doing the ORDER to be most efficient.

It’s just a matter of getting the right maps to show up! You can find the BRAIIIIINS game type in both playlists Rumble Pit or 7-on-7. These are the maps you need to look for:
The Mythic maps are as listed; Be sure to pay attention to the pictures because map variants still count!:
- Assembly - Dismemberment (variant)
- Orbital - Andromeda (variant)
- Sandbox - Spooky House (variant)
- Longshore - Dead Docks (variant)
- Heretic
- Citadel
When I did it with a group we would make sure we were all on Xbox 360’s or Ones, whenever we crossed them thats when we experienced crashing. Other than that we restarted halo 3 every couple games just in case. Only issue I could think of besides these is if one play lives really far away and they end up being host. Hope you figure it out though.
I tried matching in it for like 3 hours last night. Got BRAIINNNS 3 or 4 times, but only ever on the Cold Storage map Rigor Mortis, so the mythic infection achievements still wouldn’t pop. Anyone else have any better luck?

Hey Recon494! Yes unfortunately with MOST of the halo 360 games (I’ve played H3, H4, and Reach last month… Played ODST this month so far) there are a LOT of cross-console connection issues. Make sure everyone is on the same console to limit it. Even then, definitely expect to clear cache every now and then (it does help in some instances). Solutions I’ve come across during the month long sessions I’ve participated in were:
- Clear cache - Go to your game > click Manage Game and Add-Ons > Saved Data > Reserved Space > Clear Reserved Space. This will have you start the game back up and hopefully clear some connection issues to xbox live. I recommend everyone doing it, but definitely the host and those who keep having the issues. - Change hosts - A session group may be from all over the world such as US mixed with UK players. Switching hosts has helped with matchmaking. If you are splitting into 2 teams, have both hosts be from the same region and mix them with different region players.There were some days that were worse than others in terms of connectivity issues, but I completed ALL MP achievements at the end of AUGUST. Keep being persistent, the wait times may be long (or at least finding the correct map/gametype) but you will get it!

Hey Peanutmut! Yes, I know the feels! I had that happen in several sessions. Oddly enough, sometimes quitting out of the game entirely and starting it back up can change it. I was in a session with a host that said that it “changes the algorithm” (to be honest I still don’t know if this is true or not), but the 2x I’ve done it, it did start shooting out different maps instead of getting stuck with just Cold Storage. So suggestions!:
- Clear cache - Go to your game > click Manage Game and Add-Ons > Saved Data > Reserved Space > Clear Reserved Space. - Hard Reset your game - Quit out of the game fully. Go back in and start searching again! (Sometimes it’s that simple and obnoxious) - Change hosts - I’ve had the group change hosts before and it had a similar affect as above.It really comes down to luck. I remember starting up H3 and the first playlist I got was BRAIIIIINS, but it was on the wrong map >:( 3hrs later, after clear caches and hard resets, we were able to finally find BRAIIIINS on Andromeda!
