I dont know if 343 looks at these forums, but i would like some help! Host booting in halo 3 is a really big problem now that reach is out. I beg of you, please start banning these people who cannot get a 50 on there own, its unfair to the players who want to play for real, and just have fun. Please look into my claim 343!

i have been, but i just got hit offline for 25 minutes on my mlg 50 game i just want some help, halo 3 is still a great game and we should not just through it under the rug and forget about it

I agree with you, I also think if they just added a file a complaint for host booting option, it would be easier for Microsoft to target and ban the host booters.
What’s host boosting? It seems there’s so many ways of cheating in this game, I can’t keep up. :s
Op isn’t lying. It happens ALL THE TIME at high levels. Doubles is the worst for this. I doubt they will do anything about it. The only way that would be fixed is dedicated servers so people don’t get your IP.

I watch a few streams, and in MLG it’s a HUGE problem (so many ppl boot). It also happens in pretty much every playlist 45-50.
yeah for real some one needs to do something about this!

You have no idea what the hell your talking about. First of all the playlist with the most host booting is MLG and has always been because people think they are pro once they reach level 50. Second if you knew a thing about networking that dedicated servers wont stop or even do anything to protect you if someone is trying to get you offline. If they get your ip address, you most likely will get booted even if 343 has a million dollar server.
OP I agree it’s a b*tch with host booters but they still get automatically banned in Halo 3. If they do it more than once, they will eventually get caught.
i have been host booted by the same guy over 5 times, (DC G3N3RAL) and he has host booted the other team when i get put on his team, this is insane its a federal offense to mess with someones ip and flood it, u can lose your internet for a year, but yet no one does anything about it, its not hard to track one ip sending abunch of packets to another
Yeah I get deranked on and cheated almost everyday 343 needs to ban all these losers forreal

I haven’t noticed it but even if it was a problem, ill take it over cheaters/modders and Halo 3 doesn’t have those issues. What you should do is just kick back and have a good time, don’t place seriously all the time

Hmm true the MLG playlist is erratic at best when it comes to finishing a legit game without any cheating whatsoever, however when i play on my MLG 50 i always choose prefer skill, that way it severely reduces the chances of a paired 48-50 and a low ranked account which in my experience are the ones to blame for booting.
Highly doubt they will make changes to prevent it, would be nice of course.
OH god its you!!! i was playing with you in mlg when i was booting nothing will happen to host booters. i got banned for host booting i hit 40 games i get unbanned in a few hours. if people only boot 5 games a day you can’t get banned.
are u kidding me right now, im not gonna start booting just so i could get a fake 50, people who do boot suck, because they cant get one legit. Its not even worth it to kick people offline for a number on a video game, people who do that are just losers. Not to mention if someone has cain and abel and they get hit, they can track someone kicking them offline and give there ip to the cable company and then police take over and u can get in huge trouble, my friend lost his internet for 5 years and had to pay a 1,500 dollar fine

My knowledge is much more valid because I have host booted. Call me a tryhard but I don’t anymore and never have for ranks. Dedicated servers WILL stop it because somebody can’t get your IP adress since it is bouncing off the servers and back with no direct connection to other players. I win, you are disqualified.
