Halo 3 - Getting a 50

  1. So I played Halo 3 back in 2007, but I was horrible when the game started, so I only got up to about a 35 in Lone Wolves and a few other playlists. I’ve heard that getting a 50 was easier back then and has become harder? I’m not sure if this is true.

  2. I’m also wondering if its even possible to achieve a 50 anymore with dwindling online player counts - especially now that the MCC is coming out. I wouldn’t be super disappointed if I never got my 50, but I’m wondering if it’s even possible anymore.

Still possible to reach to 50. Beware of Haxors!

Right - that too

Since i reached level 46, i hadn’t luck anymore… It’s a shame, cause there were so many bad 50s

Highest I got was 37 in RAnked 4v4.

You will have to be pretty lucky to avoid the hackers and de-rankers. Why do people still de-rank anyway?

I’m still grinding through Lone Wolves. I’m a 48 at the moment and still have been after about 40 consecutive wins.
Usually the better player wins but in the past two weeks I’ve came across some Mexicans working together, some Germans working together and a thumbless modder which changes his in game name periodically but maintains the same gamertag when their profile is viewed. If you see a blue elite flying around and not missing a shot, it’s the person I’m talking about.
I’m going to try for the LW 50 regardless though.

Its possible. But itll be tough. Too many hackers and derankers flooding it. Team doubles would be your best bet.

Ya Team Doubles is my plan, but I’m not hopeful really

Halo 3 rank factors in win/loss and in-game performance (headshots and various other things), correct?

Only winning and losing matter. The Mu and sigma formula for Trueskill is based solely on a player’s win/loss record.

if you have a god like connection you are set,at the moment i can’t kill anything everyone is a brick wall. i have a good connection 50down 50up and still cant do anything.

Are you sure? I remember reading (something a Bungie employee had said, a bungie.net article maybe) that getting better at specific things (headshots was given as an example) increases skill rank.

They could have just meant that getting better at things like that will make the player do better making them win and getting a higher skill rank that way, but that was definitely not the impression it gave.

My best rank is in Lone Wolves (46) but I went down and can’t get back up :frowning:
If anyone good wants to help me/I help them add me and tell me why, Gt: Turretguy
I want a 50… lol

All that matters in H3 is winning and losing. Takes into account your win/loss record and the win/loss record of your teammates and opponents. It’s easier to get a 50 in H3 now imo than it was all those year ago, the quality of the players 50 high seems worse to me. There is still easily enough players to get a 50 in Team Slayer.

None of that counts, you might have read a Reach article where that gives bonus credits or something for the Reach system.
