There are several clues that mean to suggest that Halo 3 is coming out for PC soon. For those who don’t know read this and this. I perfectly know that Microsoft denied it all but without explaining why there were those references to the game in the Steam database and in the latest AMD drivers, they end to confirm it.
In the unlikely case in which 343industries will listen to fans, let’s discuss about what we’d like to see in the PC version of Halo 3.
In my opinion, Halo 3 for PC should:
- be a proper PC game and not a direct port like Halo 2 Vista was
(see this guide written by PC gamer) - be graphically improved (HD textures, Antialiasing,…)
- include all DLCs and multiplayer maps
- include Halo 3 ODST expansion disk
- include a map editor (like Forge but with more features)
- include online and LAN co-op
- include achievements
It should not include the odst disc but Halo 3 ODST should be sold as a DLC on GFWL.
Why shouldn’t it include ODST? I would think more people would buy when they get a bonus. It would save customers money provoking more to buy and Microsoft can cut what small loss they have by charging more for each copy sold. There is very little stopping Microsoft, and according to petitions and excitement over mere rumors, there is a demand.
As I have said on other threads. There is no reason Halo should remain exclusive, except to those people who would feel cheated, since they went out and were early consumers, and gave Microsoft money mindlessly. Those people would say I have no right to it. I disagree. They could have waited it out. The only reason Microsoft makes things exclusive is because they know people will cave. It’s the same with gas prices. If people refused to pay and found alternate means of transportation, gas prices would fall. I realize alternate transportation is not always practical, but gaming is recreational. If people had refused to buy Microsoft’s product, they would have worked with gamers, and Halo might have been PC exclusive. Who knows? My point is I am willing to fight for Halo 3. I did not buy an Xbox 360, and I am not buying Xbox one, because I do not particularly like either one. There are other people like me, and Microsoft should see us as an untapped resource and should work with us. We want to finish the fight on our terms!
Sorry this did not make it in earlier. The following is a post I put on a different thread yesterday, and I thought it also belonged here.
“Call me a conspiracy theorist, but Microsoft/343 Industries has every right to be cautious. It is possible that they have been putting H3 on registries to gauge public reaction, while at the same time having plausible deniability. If positive reaction was strong enough they would have no arguments against H3 PC that would support their money grabbing side, which is the only thing holding them back as of now.”
