Hi there Spartans,
I know we can’t talk about modding/hacking on Waypoint but I think everyone needs to be aware of what’s happening and it would be great if 343i could write something about it on the Blog or via a Bulletin to let everyone know.
After a few research on the forums I didn’t find many answers (even on Google) but Halo 3 is now doomed by a lot of modders. You probably already know that.
One year ago, when I started fresh by creating this account, I saw many modders with aimbot, incredible movement speed etc, but now I see many EXP modders (maybe not them directly I don’t know) and everyone should be aware of. People with 100k+ EXP for like 5k games played. It’s ridiculous and obviously everyone can see it’s fake immediately when you look at the service record, but … The thing is, it looks like (seeing some posts on Waypoint and other forums) you can have your EXP modded aswell just by being matched with modders. I heard people who lost all their EXP after playing against some (often in MLG from what I’ve heard), and other get their EXP turning to 100k+. So, while playing against aimbot isn’t really fun, it doesn’t affect our account.
Now, I’m afraid of playing online and I’ll probably stop playing Halo 3’s Matchmaking because I don’t want to have my EXP modded. I was determined to get to the rank of General, then 5 Stars General even in 2015 but now I think it’s too “dangerous”, and I was playing in Social Slayer these days … Yes, back to Halo 2 days, modders were playing in ranked but know even in Social. I’d better stay as Commander than getting my record modded. I’m sad because I probably won’t have the chance to get the highest rank a second time on Halo 3 and never will because of cheaters.
Cheating is a thing, a stupid thing in my opinion but preventing a community to play in peace …
Now, like in CoD World at War, we can be victims just by joining a modded lobby randomly. It prevented me to play this game in the past and now probably Halo 3.
People gets banned so easily for boosting, how could all those modders can still be online? After, DDoSers, host booters, boosters, derankers, aim bots, “flamingheadsmagnumshootinginfinitesniperbullets” … now EXP modders. Great.
It’s not only against rules of Halo multiplayer, but all Xbox Live and Microsoft’s code of conduct and terms of use.
Did you encounter some of them? What’s your opinion, should we continue to play even with this risk? What should we do to let the majority of players know?
Again, I think it’s important to let everyone know about those things. If I did something wrong with Waypoint rules, please let me know. I wrote this as an information and in any way to promote modding or hacking. Thank you.
