So a while back I made a post asking if Halo 4 had the easiest Legendary campaign as I was able to blow through it with minimal issues. However, that game’s campaign still took me about a week where I played the game every day to complete.
I’ve been playing through Halo 3 on Legendary and, over the course of about four days of playtime, I only have one mission left. I played through Halo 4 solo and the same is happening with Halo 3. As I’ve never been very good at Legendary in the past, I must ask…
> “Mythic” is the title given to playing the game on legendary, all skulls on, with zero deaths or saves. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Probably something along the lines of OMFGWTFBBQ!!! But I assure you it’s not nearly as bad as it sounds. In fact, Halo 3’s campaign can be said to be the easiest in the series due to things such as plentiful friendly AI, the invincible Arbiter, and predictable enemies. In fact, the toughest aspect of Mythic is the Iron Skull which sends you back to the beginning of a mission upon death, and even that can be conquered so long as you’re willing to cast aside your typical run and gun methods and start getting down and dirty with some good ol’ fashion guerilla warfare!

I wouldnt say Halo 3 is the easiest legendary but definitely not that hard. Maybe some parts that I retried a few times were with sniper jackals and on Cortana mostly though some retry parts were more about new enemy placements.
I think that some of the newer games were easier but that could be just me.
Halo 5 Legendary wasn’t easy in my opinion. because of the squad, the number of enemies thrown at you is nuts. then you have multiple warden eternals in a couple spots… even just one on legendary is hard…
Yeah when I was beginning to attempt to beat Halo 3 on legendary in under 3 hours, I found it easier then beating Halo 4 in under 3 hours. I think its because (as said above) friendly AI, Invincible arbiter and predictable enemies. I have played the halo 3 campaign a lot of times before as well and it does not have unfair enemies like the knights and watchers.
Halo 3 is one of the easiest campaigns. In the entire series though, Halo 3 ODST has the easiest campaign on legendary. The below list is my opinion of hardest to easiest campaigns.

Oh, we’re two. Reach Elites were unforgiving, but atleast the Noob/Elite Combo makes them fall like paper.

We had a similar discussion in the Halo: Reach subforum, this was my answer (haven’t played H5): Halo 2 > Halo: Reach > Halo 4 > Halo: CE > Halo 3 > Halo 3: ODST.
Think almost everyone agrees on the hardest campaign and the two easiest ones. =]

I think without a doubt, it is considered very easy, but there are a few missions that just make it a pain in the -Yoink-. Cortana was one of these missions.

Cortana is the only mission that’s been giving me trouble.

Halo 3 was the first Halo game I was serious about beating on legendary and I had a hard time (especially the mission Cortana). Halo 4 was really easy for me, I finished it in 3 to 4 days. It depends on the player, which games they perfer, what tactics the normally use, and how patient they are ARGH!
If it was easy for you then great job, now I challenge you to Halo 2, you have no excuse if you have a One MCC or 2 Anniversary if you have a 360 the orignial game works on it. Have fun!

Despite how much love I have for Halo 2 and how much time I have invested into it, the only way I’m touching Legendary is if it’s through coop.
I’ll do any of the other games solo, but Halo 2 is the only game in the franchise that I consider to be unfair.

yeah, it is very unfair, co-op is actually harder because if 1 person! dies it resets the checkpoint. It may sound weird but I had the most fun grinding Halo 2’s unfair legendary story.
