Simple question really, can nothing be done about them?
I know that Halo 3 has a very short life span left on Xbox 360 with the Master Chief Collection coming very soon, but I think we should capitalize on taking this time to BAN, Blacklist these cheaters that are blatantly abusing the fact that 343 is not monitoring the Halo 3 servers/matchmaking.
sadly not much will be done. I’ve already had the misfortune of running into a few players who were able to super-bounce with infinite ammo and auto aim.
I’m just going to forget the lame matches and enjoy the few fair matches left on the Halo 3 xbox 360. Can’t wait for MC Collection when cheating goes away.

Exactly this, I can’t imagine there’s going to be a massive amount of support for it but I’m sure they’ll keep cheaters at bay since it’s on a new console and all.

Yep. Xbox one is MS’s baby and they won’t allow cheaters to last long. Coupled with the new rep system bad players and cheaters will get shuffled away from good rep players which will also ensure quality of play is good.
Everything is run on dedicated servers too which will knock out a lot of the junk we sadly have to deal with on p2p xbox 360 connections too.
Honestly, I haven’t run into a modder in Halo 3 since 2010 or so, which is when Bungie was still sorta policing the servers. Maybe I’ve just been getting lucky.

Play ranked team slayer at lvl 50 high and you will see the rampant cheating. It’s gotten quite out of hand.
You won’t find cheaters at lower levels or social playlists, they all reside in the high trueskill areas since of course they are cheating.
Social gets some but few cheaters as does low level Team Slayer, but really Team Doubles and Team Slayer are the big two for cheaters. It’s why I play Social nearly all the time, I might stay level 18 since I abandoned ranked, but why play when the top ranks are infested with unfair matches. 
It’s so ridiculous that I can’t play even 10 games in Halo 3 Team Doubles without getting DDoSed offline.

yeah the days of playing Ranked in Halo 3 is sadly over. I find myself mostly sticking to social slayer and BTB these days.
I won’t be over in about 4 months. Long Live Dedicated Servers.
