So I can’t load anything in Halo 3, like the game isn’t even there. it just crashes to title screen. I tried hard reseting several times and even tried redownloading the game over the night, took almost 12 hours. Still not working. Every other game works, and while slow as hell, the matchmaking works, sort of.
I have the same problem and i found out the problem. Its the day 1 patch. I tried installing it without the patch and then i went offline. Then it bloody worked. I am downloading the patch again see if that works.
Did you buy digitally or physical? If it is the patch then those with digital downloads will have to wait until 343 does something about it.
I have the same problem. Bought physical copy. And installed the update. sigh Halo is my favorite.
Same problem here. The game freezes in the loading screen of Halo 3 and then you get thrown out to the dashboard.

Me too! It just shows the picture of the map, the circle twists a bit - then this annoying sound and you get thrown to dashboard! Only Halo 3 is affected…

I can confirm that it is the day 1 patch! If you want to play Halo 3, then for now - reinstall without the first patch! Works like a charm!
so THATS why my xbone froze up in the only big team battle I got into as of now-they chose Valhalla!
Yeah, I also have it. This also needs to be adressed by 343 as quickly as possible.
That’s stupid. How can they release a patch that breaks the game? This will also affect multiplayer.
It should be their most important priority right now.
Same here, crashes with a soundbuffer loop and goes back to the dashboard when I start Halo 3.
I hope this gets fixed soon.
Keep reporting it in the bug report thread and tweet to 343i or Frankie, That is the only way they will be made aware of the issues.

Are you from Sweden? Change your region on your Xbox to UK or US.
Me and my friends are having the same problem, so ridiculous.
Something tells me that they are not going to fix it because only a few of us seems to have this problem.
