being given a fatal error whenever trying to load a game in halo 3. Menu is totally fine, after the loading screen and the fade to black, i’ll hear the announcer say slayer and I can hear my weapon fire when I click, but the screen is still black and shortly afterwards i’m given a fatal error and im booted back to the desktop. wondering if anyone has also had this issue and knows a workaround? I’m on windows 7, have also submitted a ticket on halo support.

Interesting bug. Have you tried verifying your game files integrity? This can be done on the steam version, not sure about the MS store. It sounds like there is some sort of corrupted file that is associated with Halo 3 causing your troubles, so this suggestion will probably find and fix the bug. Do any other titles in the MCC cause the same error?

Verified game files and reinstalled the game, that didn’t work, so I updated to windows 10 and dx12 as recommended by support, still isn’t working and im getting the exact same error messages so I’m just assuming it’s my hardware at this point, on a laptop with an integrated GPU, according to some friends of mine (idk much about pc gaming) an integrated GPU was never going to run it, win some lose some I guess

You are running MCC on integrated graphics? That sounds like the culprit. Integrated graphics is below the minimum specs MCC is rated for. I wish you had listed that earlier as I could have diagnosed this one quicker with that info. Look into upgrading your laptop to a newer system, or consider buying a gaming desktop. Something in the $500-$750 range should be perfect for the MCC, as well as other titles. That is just a minimum recommendation though, feel free to go above that if you wish.

Yeah looking back I should have included my specs here, spent most of the day looking for a fix just assuming I’d be able to run it, thanks for the replies, I’ll be looking into laptops above the min spec for the game, thought I had met that lol.
