I was wondering for awhile what the current state of the special Bungie armor is. I always thought it looked pretty sweet but is it still a Bungie Employee connected thing or do people at 343i have the armor too because they control the servers and system now? Is the armor still given to new employees of either company? I know that Nathan Fillion and Pope Rex were given the armor long ago but would it still be possible to give new players the armor if they say had the Septagon nameplate, all achievements, and 5 star general status or something along those lines of completing everything in the game and maybe winning community events or something? I think it would rekindle a lot interest in Halo 3 and incentivize people to complete and do everything in that game. If it can’t be done in Halo 3 then can it be a new thing for the Master Chief Collection version of Halo 3? I think it would be really cool.

They could for all we know. We don’t know how Customization for MCC will work for Halo 3 and 4.

Yep, a big f*ck you to the people who actually earned their Recon.
I know the reason they gave it out was because of Bungie.net being linked to the armor, but they could’ve just changed it so once you got all the Vidmasters you could have the armor, right?
Or at the very least, give those who did earn it something special other then a “Good job, you wasted your time for something that everyone has now” and a pat on the back.

because it was bungies idea and the mcc belongs to 343 so it would be up to 343 to decide
I can’t wait to see all the armor custonizations and optimizations they’ll be bringing to Halo 3 and Halo 4. Whether it will be completely the same or the same with more features, I’m definitely excited. However, I think the Bungie armor should remain a mystery. It’s a sacred piece of armour, much like the Recon armour was. Let’s not ruin another legendary facet of the Halo history.
It would be nice. But you never know.

Too late for that, sorry. It was given out for a day on the 7th of July a few years back. Even then, you could only have used it for one day.
Well at least we have it on MCC. However, I would still like to leave feedback on the whole thing with Recon and Bungie body only being exclusives to certain users/Bungie Employees.
Armor exclusives are horrible, it gives people a great sense of entitlement that they think they are special. I am so glad that the days of “can I haz recon?” are finally over.

it has been since launch the flaming armor is activated by the bungie chest
