Halo 3 Bumper Jumper Grenades?!

I’ve posted this multiple times and still haven’t gotten a response. On Halo 3 Bumper Jumper you switch between plasma and a grenade by using the D-Pad. However it won’t let me. I do not know what to do. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Try tweeting it to Bravo, 343i won’t help you here. And I haven’t encountered that problem because I don’t just Bumper Jumper nor have those of my friends who do. Might be your controller?

It wouldn’t be the controller because the D-Pad works fine in the other Halos.

It works fine for me. The problem is, that in the 360 Version you could switch by pressing A. Dont know why they changed it in the MCC.

There are two bumper jumper control schemes.

Universal and Traditional/ Standard.

You are used to Halo 4’s modified bumper jumper which is called Universal Bumper Jumper in MCC, it can be used across all games in MCC and has Switch Grenade=DPad.

What you are using is the original Halo 3 Bumper Jumper where switch grenade = A.

Mystery solved, now mini rant about the lack of thought put into the control schemes in MCC.

Really Universal should have been based on the original Halo 3 Scheme as Halo 4 is the outlier when it comes to the need for a sprint button. The DPad is much less intuitive and slower to access mid fight than A which is why the switch was made in H4 as Sprinting was more important than switching grenades.

The original remains the best version of the scheme for the original sprint-less trilogy however, but is unavailable in H2+2A.

In H2+2A universal is the only option leaving a face button mapped to nothing and would benefit from either having a Universal based off of the original variant or the inclusion of a H2 Bumper Jumper as was done with H1 leaving everyone happy.

Thank you kind sir. You literally saved me. I almost gave up on this game because this problem was getting me killed!

I play on it, but I’ve never had this problem. Sorry

That’s weird. I use Bumper Jumper all the Halos and have not had this happen. Like somebody else above said, try tweeting Bravo.

Edit: or listen to Blizzard.

Use A button to switch from frag to plasmas

I really don’t think OP has been waiting 3+ years for an answer to this.

Please don’t revive old threads like that. Thanks!
