Halo 3 Believe TV ads no longer happened

All those live actions TV spots for Halo 3 pretty much never happened now, since Halo 4 is now happening. They all talk about the Covenant War decades after the events such as Gravesite which is 43 years after the end of the War, he soldier also talks about Master Chief’s grave being more tribute. This is some just random thing that popped into my head, has anyone else thought of this?

That was never canon.

> That was never canon.

its also mentioned in the Encyclopedia, so it’s still not true? Frankie helped make that book, you’re telling me Frankie screwed that up/let it print/happen? doubt it.

Meh, it was just a TV ad. It’s not a book or anything.

The Believe ads never happened because of how Halo 3 turned out.

Chief never participated in some grand, grim, and gritty epic battle in the ruins of New Mombasa against hordes of metallic-gray armored Brutes.

Instead he participated in small skirmishes in bright, shiny, colorful environments against Grunts telling you to enjoy their “bright blue balls.”

Rather misleading marketing campaign if you ask me.

343 had very little involvement with the Halo Encyclopedia, and the book was filled with dozens of errors.

Now, certain events of the Believe campaign are non-canon, and some are. The Museum of Humanity is canon, but not much else is. This is due to the fact that Microsoft wasn’t aware of Halo 3’s story, and had to improvise.

Still just because Halo 4 and the Reclaimer trilogy happen doesn’t mean the Chief will go back to Earth. It very possible, or even probable, that John will remain MIA, even with the Infinity discovering him. ONI may know the truth, but the general public may not.

We dont know what happens to the Infinity yet. Do you really think it makes it back to earth OK after being eaten by Requiem?

It could well be the case that the discovery that the chief is alive never makes it into the newspapers back home. The spirit of fire is still out there somewhere too with the original spartan Red Team in cryo and nobody knows it. ONI specialises in keeping secrets after all, and im sure they would love as asset such as the chief to fight their little guerilla war against the elites.

Master Chief is gone, for our god Frankie hath made it so.

Seriously though, we dealt with much larger retcons with Halo: Reach than this.

The covenant war is over.
Whats happening now is a civil war within the elite goverment if all that stuff oni was doing in glasslands worked.

Or the elites found out about all taht stuff and started a new war which would be the human-elite war.

Some of the tv ads are canon. Like the deliver hope ad for Halo Reach. It showed how Kat lost her arm and how the original Noble 6 died.

But yeah, I don’t mind if the believe ad isn’t canon. It was still awesome though.

The Believe Campaign could have happened while the New War that will start in Halo 4 is going on. Who ever said the UNSC would go public about the New War anyway. In fact, speaking of cover ups, the Believe Campaign can be canon, for it all could be a cover up done by ONI to hide the Forerunners, the Flood, and the Halo Array from the public. Also, I know that Spartans are listed as MIA when they are KIA, but the Believe Campaign kinda makes it feel like they listed John as KIA for a “heroic sacrifice that saved humanity” impression (to me at least).

Two words: parallel universe.

Im just kidding, I don’t know.

How is “no longer happened” possible… when it’s in the future?
