Halo 3 Anniversary needs to be the definitive Halo 3 experience. Halo 3 Anniversary would obviously need to have ALL of its original content plus more (Side note though Forge would be updated to be better then Halo 5’s just like how Halo 2A was to Halo 4, we would be able to forge with everything on any map with all the original objects, etc.). True remasters should have at least just a little extra content. Halo 3:ODST should be remastered with Firefight, since they both are in the same game engines. Two minor changes would make the whole experience better. 343 should bring Michael Wincott and Julie Benz to reprise their roles as Prophet of Truth and Miranda Keyes respectively. They would record all the dialogue their old characters said in Halo 3. Don’t get me wrong the current Halo 3 actors are great but I do not believe the originals should have been replaced. In the option menu we would have the option to have original cast of Halo 3 or new cast of Halo 3 Anniversary, which would just replace the voices of Justis Bolding and Terrance Stamp. Or all Anniversary cut scenes would be Wincott and Benz while the old cut scenes would be Bolding and Stamp, but I prefer the my first idea.
343i hasn’t announced a Halo 3 anniversary, and I don’t believe there will be. 343i want to leave the Bungie studio in the past and focus on now and new stuff. I believe, their views may have changed on that, but that’s just what I’ve heard.
They’ve explicitly stated H3A is a no-go.
So you made a must have list about something that wont happen?
Atleast Waypoin dont get boring this way.
This is all presuming there will be a Halo 3 Anniversary, and even then if there is I feel like you expectations are still a little bit in the fantasy side of things.
But I have to admit, a remastered Halo 3 campaign and the complete multiplayer experience alongside remastered ODST would be a total dream. And I’m not even the biggest fan of Halo 3. I would love to see the classic remastered with modern graphics and the cutscenes looking professional and cinematic.
Michael Wincott chose not to reprise the role for Halo 3. If he didn’t want to do it then, I doubt he’d want to do it now. Developers can’t force actors to work for them. Nor should they go out of their way to meet unreasonable demands for the actors. Not sure why Bungie decided to not bring back Julie Benz for Halo 3, though (that bullcrap about giving Miranda an accent was… bullcrap…).
This of course only matters if H3A is going to be a thing.
Which, as far as we’ve been told, it’s not.
For Halo 3 Anniversary to have must haves it must be happening in the first place, which it isn’t.
As awesome as H3A may be, there would be too many logistical issues regarding its development. With Halo Wars 2 and other subsequent projects coming up, 343 may not have the time (or even the necessary resources) to contend with remastering a title so treasured in the series.

343 stated once before that Halo 2 Anniversary was not going to happen but then it did. So this is for if and when it could happen, it may not even be for the 10 year anniversary if they actually stick to their word this time around. I mean 343 promised quite a few things that still are not in Halo 5 yet.

I did not know that about Michael and I heard about that for Julie. It is hard finding information on the reasons why they were not in the game. Wincott may have a change of heart and Benz may be available.
343 said H2A would not happen then it did. They said features that would make their way into Halo 5 would come but they never did or they came way after then they said it would.

I wouldn’t quite say fantasy. Call of Duty 4, Final Fantasy 7, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank, etc. are getting/got a full remaster. Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for instance, got all multiplayer maps remade unlike the 7 or so in Halo 2 Anniversary and 0 in Halo CE Anniversary (granted CE was 343’s first attempt, and in my opinion started more older modern games getting current generation graphics). The only extra thing would really be Halo 3:ODST and Firefight while everything else I said, besides the voice actors, would be expected. Remastering ODST would not be that difficult of a task to add on.
I would be happy with that
