I am starting to see that the days of the old xbox are behind me and I am old compared to the new gamers, but I refuse to let them believe that halo 3 is the best mutliplayer game in the halo universe. It is starting to dawn on me that most gamers now have never really experienced a game on the orignial Xbox, therefore I fell I must tell them that halo 2 is the game to compare all others to, some may disagree but I feel that halo 2 would be the top multiplayer game if it came out today. It felt so right, and was so fun you didn’t care if you where losing (unless someone was moding which can be fixed) but anyway Halo 3 is great compared to reach but lets admit that it was nothing compared to halo 2 multiplayer wise. Also I would like to say I am not talking about the campaign.
Halo 3 has great multiplayer maps. I also liked this Heavy Gametype.
Reach needs a Heavy gametyp.

Ironically, back in 2007, many in the H3 forum would’ve said that H3’s maps were horrible, and H2’s were amazing. Funny how hindsight works.

Halo 2 has some great maps, too.
And Reach has some great maps. I like all of them but not the forgeworld maps.
I didn’t like Halo 2 that much cause everyone was better than me. But then the no0bs arrived along with Halo 3 and now I have a chance in games.
It was basically the same game broski.
Besides a few (extremely) minor alterations, Halo 3 IS Halo 2, but with less glitches and more options.
I feel your pain with the whole getting old thing though. I come from the real height of fast paced competitive gaming - the mid to late 90’s. Quake 3, Unreal Tournament, Team Fortress, Counter strike. These were the REAL competitive/fast paced games, and Halo (while aesthetically superior) pales in comparison. I die a little inside every time someone mentions Halo and competitive and/or fast paced game play in the same sentence.
If Halo wants to be competitive, it needs faster movement, faster kill times, and support for keyboard and mouse.
I was playing Halo 3 today with my son, Its a great game, but i do feel Halo is taking steps in the right direction, Cant wait for Halo 4.

You know what i find funny?, When CE first came out, people said it was boring at-times, repetitive, and had no Online Multiplayer.
When Halo 2 Came Out everyone missed CE and said it was the best.
When Halo 3 Came out people said Halo 2 was the Best.
When Halo Reach came out Everyone said Halo 3 was best.
nostalgia makes everything better
BUT will Nostalgia make Halo Reach Better when Halo 4 Comes Out?
We’ll just have to wait and see…

Can you imagine that it might have been drum roll different people?

Halo 2 MP > Halo 3 MP.
Halo 3 Campaign > Halo 2 Campaign.
Reach being as bad as it is has the effect of people longing for the halo 3 days.
Its like this
Halo 2 (9/10)
halo 3 (7.5/10)
halo reach (3/10)
P
Halo 2 was my favorite halo solely because of its online multiplayer.

I solute to that, but now watch every one say reaches maps are better then h4 lol! That would be ironic.
Halo 2 Multiplayer was absolutely pen-ultimate.
The Matchmaking Games were great, the lack of Party Chat or an Xbox 360 Dashboard really helped to empower this.
People who wanted to play Custom Games actually needed a certain amount of knowledge to understand games such as Slayer Infection or Cat N Mouse.
I could say that I spent many hours playing Halo 2 over and over again. I even remember the last game that I played.
Sniff Christmas Territories on Christmas Eve.
Weeps IT WAS THE HAPPIEST HALO MOMENT OF MY LIFE |:’((

I have a strong feeling that Reach would be greatly missed, and those people who don’t miss it probably never enjoyed Halo anyways. Damn bandwagon fans…
i seriosly wish i could have tried halo 2 multiplayer with how awsome everyone says it was
The only bad thing with Halo 3 multiplayer was its netcode.
Now Halo 3 gameplay+Reach’s netcode=Best Halo multiplayer
> Halo 2 MP > Halo 3 MP.
> Halo 3 Campaign > Halo 2 Campaign.
I think you mean that the other way around. Here, I’ll fix it for you:
> Halo 2 MP < Halo 3 MP
> Halo 3 Campaign < Halo 2 Campaign

Funny that, imagine all these Reach diehards complaing about halo 4. someone should make a thread about it; it’d be like setting the trend.
On topic:I wish i could of played halo 2 online, it sounds amazing and all i have is the occasional games over system link. Still beat halo reach’s gameplay tho.
