Halo 3 Achievement Guide! *WIP*

Hello guys! I want to create a community run thread for help with Halo 3 achievements, as well as others in the future! I will use this first post to provide information about this thread and how it will work. The next post will include an “index” of all of the guides posted in this thread. For example, if someone posts a guide for “Used Car Salesman”, I will include the link to the guide beneath the name of the achievement, as well as the name of the creator.

Here are the rules for creating and using guides:
1)You must have the achievement in order to post a guide. The guide must be the method that got you the achievement, and not any other method.
2)If you don’t have the achievement, then look for a guide in the index post. If you cannot find one, please post a request in the thread here.
3)If you find a method that gets you the achievement, then please THANK the original post including the method. To THANK a post, click MENU under the post, and then click THANK.

Landfall, 20G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission Sierra 117, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. If you already know how to play the game, it will be a walk in the park. If not, I suggest going into Forge first and testing out the controls. Once you are familiar, return to the mission.
4)After the Endtro cutscene, you will receive the achievement. This is probably the easiest achievement to get.

Holdout, 20G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission Crow’s Nest, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the final elevator segment.

The Road, 20G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission Tsavo Highway, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

Assault, 30G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission The Storm, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

Cleansing, 30G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission Floodgate, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission The Ark, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

Last Stand, 40G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission The Covenant, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

The Key, 40G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission Cortana, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

Return, 50G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. You can complete this achievement Solo or Co-op. It is harder on Solo, but you can save your progress.
2)Set the game up to the Mission Halo, and Normal difficulty. You can turn the difficulty up to a higher setting, if you wish, but it must be at least Normal. Start the game.
3)Simply play through the level. You will receive the achievement after the Endtro cutscene.

Campaign Complete: Normal, 125G

1)Simply follow the steps for the previous achievements. Once you have all of the achievements, you will still need to do one more thing.
2)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby and start the level Arrival on Legendary. Why Legendary? The level is just a cutscene, and it’s easiest to simply play it once on that difficulty and be done with it, as it is also a requirement for the other two Campaign Complete achievements.
3)Some people choose to play through the game on Heroic or Legendary on their first try. Completing Campaign on either of these difficulties will still unlock this achievement, so don’t be afraid to knock out two or three birds with one stone.

Campaign Complete: Heroic, 125G

1)The instructions for this achievement are similar to those for the Campaign Complete: Normal achievement with one major difference: you must complete Campaign on Heroic or Legendary. Normal will not give you the achievement.
2)Since this is a harder difficulty, I recommend that you go through with at least one friend. However, more is better.
3)Playing through the game on Heroic first will also give you the Normal Campaign Complete achievement, and playing through on Legendary will give you the Heroic and Normal Campaign Complete achievements.

Campaign Complete: Legendary, 125G

1)The instructions for this achievement are similar to those for the Campaign Complete: Normal and Campaign Complete: Heroic achievements with one major difference: you must complete Campaign on Legendary. Nothing else will give you the achievement.
2)Since this is the hardest difficulty, I strongly recommend that you go through with at least one friend. However, more is better.
3)Playing through the game on Legendary first will also give you the Heroic and Normal Campaign Complete achievements.

Iron, 10G

1. The Skull achievements are simple, though some of them can be difficult to reach. The Iron skull, however, is really easy to find and reach.
   2)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. Start the level Sierra 117 on Normal. There is no need to use a higher difficulty; you will not get any more achievements for finding it on Legendary.
   3)Play through the mission until you reach the area where you rescue Sgt. Johnson. Instead of rescuing him immediately, kill all Covenant in the vicinity. Then head back to the bridge where the Pelican would normally arrive.
   4)When you are about midway across, turn around. There will be a large stone ledge on the right. Jump to this ledge. Then, walk along it until you reach the wall.
   5)There should be a ledge above you on the wall. Jump onto that ledge. Walk along it the whole way. There will be a couple of turns.
   6)Once you reach the end, there should be some pillars. The Iron Skull is in between two of them, likely the last pillars. Walk over to it, press and hold the action button (default RB) and you will pick up the skull and get the achievement.
   7)To activate the skull, leave the current game and press “X” in the lobby. Then, highlight the Iron Skull and press “A”. When you are done, press “B”. Then, start the game! Enjoy your new skull! ;D

Black Eye, 10G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. Start the level Crow’s Nest on Normal. There is no need to use a higher difficulty; you will not get any more achievements for finding it on Legendary.
2)Head towards the barracks door. When you reach it, turn around. There will be a wire fence, and above that on the right is a small bit of red scaffolding.
3)Jump onto the fence, and then onto the scaffolding. It will probably take you a few tries.
4)Once you are safely on the scaffolding, walk a short distance along it and stop about midway. Look to your right. There is a large pipe. Jump onto that pipe. It helps if you try to jump to the pipe while over one of the small pieces of scaffolding that go under the pipe. That way, you will land on that if you fail the jump.
5)Walk along the pipe in the same direction that you were traversing the scaffolding. At the end, there will be the Black Eye Skull. Normally, you’d have to pick it up, but if you have no weapon, then walking over it will make you pick it up. Now you have the achievement! You can’t drop it until you pick up another weapon, though. If you try, you will just pick it up again.
6)To activate the skull, simply follow Step 7 in the Iron Skull guide. Enjoy your new skull.

Tough Luck, 10G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. Start the level Tsavo Highway on Normal. There is no need to use a higher difficulty; you will not get any more achievements for finding it on Legendary.
2)Play through the mission until you reach the highway. This will be right after you destroy the shield generator and exit the caves. A carrier will pass overhead, telling you that you have arrived at the right location
3)Look to the left. There will be a large pipe. Scale one of the two yellow ladders and walk along the top of the pipe in the direction you would normally go in (away from the cave).
4)You will come across a wire barrier. Crouch jump over it (jump and crouch in mid-air).
5)Walk a little further on the pipe, and then look to your left. There should be a cement platform far beneath you. Jump over the railing and walk onto the small area with two screws on it. Now, walk off the edge toward the cement platform. You will be damaged, but not killed. Now, walk along the platform until you reach the end.
6)Look to your left. There will be a stone cliff ledge. Jump to that. The skull is on that ledge. Walk over it and hold “RB” to pick it up. Congratulations, you have the achievement.
7)To activate the skull, simply follow Step 7 in the Iron Skull guide. Enjoy your new skull.

Catch, 10G

1)Go to the Halo 3 Campaign Lobby. Start the level The Storm on Normal. There is no need to use a higher difficulty; you will not get any more achievements for finding it on Legendary.
2)Play through the mission until you reach the area where you will destroy the first Anti-Air Wraith. As you come out the door. Look straight ahead, with the door at your back. Across the field, there will be a small stone structure. On top of that is the skull.
3)Take a Warthog and drive it towards the structure. While it helps to clear out the enemies in this area, do NOT destroy the normal Wraith over by the exit. This causes the skull to disappear.
4)Park the Warthog by the structure. Now, use it as well as a grenade jump to propel yourself to the top of the structure.
5)Walk over the skull and hold RB, or the action button on your control scheme, to pick it up.
6)To activate the skull, simply follow Step 7 in the Iron Skull guide. Enjoy your new skull.
