Halo 2PC achievement support on Halo Waypoint

The Halo Waypoint application on the Xbox marketplace has been available ever since the days of Halo 3 ODST, but what is perplexing is that Halo 2 PC achievements have never been tracked on its achievement tracker. It saddens players who have earned the achievements in Halo 2 PC but receive no merit in Halo Waypoint. It is an intangible merit yes, but many players especially enjoy seeing an archive of their Halo achievements. With the recent shutdown of Halo 2 PC servers it shows that 343i does pay attention to the Halo 2 PC some what.

Arguments have been made that Halo 2 PC is not large enough to warrant achievement tracking support, but the counterpoint is Halo Wars as well? Both are Halo games with achievements that deserve to be tracked, but why is Halo 2 PC excluded? I urge 343i to add achievement support to Halo 2 PC and hope you do as well.

Well let’s see…

Halo 2 Vista- $20 game at release
Re-release of an older game
Doesn’t require gold membership for multiplayer

Halo Wars- $60 game at release
Made by a different studio
Requires gold membership for multiplayer

hmmmm.

Well if the warrant to support achievements on Halo Waypoint is the manner of it’s price tag, then why are all the more older editions still supported? Halo 2 PC sells $20 and Halo 3 sells for $15 from the right seller. My example of Halo Wars was intended to prove a point that the PC version of Halo 2 deserves achievement support as does a spin off game of the Halo franchise. Halo 2 PC, the first halo game supporting achievements, should be tracked on Halo Waypoint.

Let’s just hope they are holding off on the H2V cheevos because of H2 Anniversary. I have some of the H2V achievements but it doesn’t bother me that they don’t show up on Waypoint. It would be too unfair to most players specifically if milestones were counted.

That’s what I presume is happening as well, but that doesn’t have to stop Halo 2 PC from being supported. If they release a Halo 2 Ann, that could be in two years allowing Halo 2 PC to be supported.

It wouldn’t be unfair, some of the multiplayer achievements will be much harder now because of the recent servers shutdown but not impossible. Many players regard the running the show achievement in Halo Wars to be widely unfair or impossible, but that will always be counted in the milestone. The addition of Halo 2 PC could raise the milestone cap and possibly add new avatar awards.

That’s the problem they already said they weren’t in the past, taking the pc servers will mean no way to play halo 2 online.

It won’t be impossible to play Halo 2 PC online, it will be just more difficult. You would have to use programs that simulate an online experience or find a really large LAN network. Official Microsoft supported multiplayer will be gone, but not all of multiplayer.
