One of the things I was most excited about getting a Series X for was a hopefully stable Halo 2 Anniversary, but there still seems to be issues with it. Overall, the experience is a lot more stable than it was last time I played on the One X, but the frame rate still tanks in half at certain points for some reason.
I don’t have a means of tracking the frame rate, but I included a couple of video clips where you can visibly see the frame rate stuttering.
Examples:
At the beginning of Outskirts in the courtyard, it’s mostly stable but I do occasionally notice the frames dropping just a bit. The frame rate also tends to tank completely when in a heavily damaged tank and the camera pans past the smoke and fire.
The big offenders I’ve noticed so far though are during the mission the Oracle, when chasing after the heretic and he locks himself behind the door before going up to cut the links. Whenever I look into the center of the room, the frames stutter a bunch. Video clip for reference.

The other one I’ve noticed is during the mission Regret, in one of those submerged hallways where you can see into the ocean. When I stand at either end of the hall and look across, frames freak out. Video clip for reference.

This is about as far as I’ve made it through. So far, other than these two instances, the game is mostly stable and seldom drops frames to any very noticeable measure. Other games in the collection seems to run fine. It’s just sad because I was hoping for better.

Sad to see this is also an issue on the Series X. I bought an Xbox One X and I have such atrocious framerate drops since the Reach update, that I can’t even play the game.
