Halo 2 Multiplayer is what got me hooked on Halo. Back when halo 2 was the game to play, it felt pretty good to play and I wished those fun nights playing alone or with friends would never end. However microsoft shut the servers down.This is what made Halo 2 a cool and unforgetable experience.
No voting system! I like how random game play was. I would choose slayer and get all slayer swords, all slayer rockets or just plain slayer. The element of surprise was a great feeling. It’s the reason people fell in love with play lists. You could choose one playlist, and let it roll all night long not knowing what to expect. Halo Reach is wacked with it’s voting system.
Things looked cooler. Lets face it, the guns on reach look goofy. Playing DMR’s just don’t feel the same anymore like it used too. I remember when DMR’s where 3 round bursts! Now they are single shot sniper wannabes.
People just seemed some much more mellow on halo 2. It was random, and it was somthing new. Now N days everyone is spoiled with that damn voting system. People leave games before they start because elite slayer got choosin over crazy king.Halo 3 is the only thing we got left. If you want to experience how halo 2 was that will be the closest thing you can try… or Help influence 343 to release halo 2 as an arcade game.They can even spice it up and release it on the PSN network as well, and just leave it as the only halo title ever released on the ps3. (I am dreaming). Just think of the money they would make ; ).Bring back Halo 2.
As LIL TE2334 said above me Halo 2 Vista is still out there with online play on more maps, you would be better off getting that.
Halo 2 Online for Xbox was cancelled because it was pretty much outdated and I guess Microsoft just wasn’t going to pay for it anymore. I doubt 343 will remake Halo 2 since (I think) they have already said they aren’t. They’re remaking Halo: Combat Evolved and some people like yourself are going to ask for a remake for Halo 2. And that’s the problem.
Once people have Halo: CEA they are going to want Halo 2 HD and then after that they’ll want a remake of Halo 3. It’s not really fair on the original game or 343. I love Halo 2 and Halo 3 and think they are perfect just the way they are. Halo: CE is better than perfect but after ten years of course i’d love to see a remake, just for nostalgic feelings.
So no, I doubt they’d bring back Halo 2 or remake it. On another note i’d rather have Halo 4 than another remake

I don’t think you really can judge that until next year. At the current moment in time for me, Halo 2 was the best.
I don’t. I highly prefer the gameplay of Halo: CE, and how close Reach’s gameplay is to the original game. It’s not a matter of nostalgia; It’s a matter of preference.

Halo 2 online was canceled because Microsoft shut down ALL of Xbox Live Service from the Xbox
I think Halo Wars was more like CE than Reach was.
Imo CE had the best campaign, I can’t choose between CE’s and Halo 2’s multiplayer but IF they remake Halo 2, they’ll probably go with Halo 4 multiplayer.
“We”. I personally am fine going without Halo 2. Halo C.E. Anniversary is coming out, and Halo: Reach is still going strong. Heck, if I really wanted to I could still play Halo 3 or ODST.
Again. Who wants a game with piss poor netcode, major host advantage, standbyers, DDosers, bridgers, modders, super bouncers (“Superbouncin’! Even from all the waaaaaay down here, you still look like a -Yoink-!”-Bungie.), and button combos galore? (“BXR. Yeah, it’s cheating.”-Bungie.)
Probably the people who are on Vista and maybe a few hundred more. So, a thousand people peak time for Halo 2.
Halo 2 had to go as well as the other xbox classic games, you can still get some on xbox live but you can’t play the old multiplayer. A Halo 2 Remake is out of the question i play it every now and then and it is still good with the old graphics, i wouldn’t like to see a remake
I’d like Halo 2 back too. 343 could source it to some random company and I’m sure they’d be more than happy to pump out a ‘Halo 2 HD’ if the price is right ;]

I have a little theory about a Halo 2 remake, but it’s such blind speculation that I won’t share it. Yet.
All I’ll say is that I’m happy about Halo CE Anniversary, but a Halo 2 remake would make me EXTREMELY happy. It had my favorite campaign in the entire series
