Arguably one of the best franchise titles in the history of the game, and Bungie developed it in a cave… WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!!!
Why 343I why? Why with the biggest budget a Halo Game has ever seen, and 6 years can you not make infinite even half of what a decades old game is today? We need full transparency. The community deserves to know. You aren’t adding, and fixing things fast enough. A lot of us are tired of it.

And it was busted as hell at launch too.

I’m no 343 defender, but comparing the MS ownership and direction of 343 in 2021 to Bungie in 2004 is comparing apples to oranges.
Also, if you think dev response to game problems was better in 2004/2005 than 2021/2022, boy have I a story to tell you about lag switches.
Your response wasn’t it coach.
Lag switches…
You want the dev of the game to figure out how to stop the server from picking the host with the best connection and somehow prevent them from on their end as host, using a feature from their isp/modem???
It’s called “Standbying”
“Halo 2 didn’t have dedicated servers. All matches were peer-to-peer, and that meant one gamer was the host . As the host, that player could hold the standby button on their modem, run up and kill competitors, release the button and the game would catch up.”
So let’s hear that story about the “Lag switches” not being fixed by the devs.
Lol “coach”? Really, bro?
So if we don’t talk standbying or lag switches, how about black screen of death? Bungie never even managed to resolve that one as it was prevalent in Reach. Or the issues that Bungie never fixed, like BXR, double shot, or super bounces - so much so that they called them “features” instead of bugs, and kept them in the game. Or sword flying in multiplayer. Or the flag bouncing on Colossus.
Everyone wants to pretend like the old Halo games were glitch free, when they weren’t. Additionally, you’re not doing anyone a service by nitpicking a reply, instead of addressing the manner of the real post, pal.
fallount nv vegas was developed in months too
games with bad graphics and old physics get developed quicker

I assume you’re familiar with how that speed was possible in the first place. And if you aren’t, it’s because Bungie undertook ungodly levels of crunch to get Halo 2 out on time.
Nevertheless, your point stands to reason and I concur. Six years is a very long time for a slipshod product and they need to open up about it.
halo 2 had devs who wanted to make a game and 343 has devs who want to be known for making a halo game or get some dumb title
I don’t think that’s entirely true. The last year ish of their development they did end up kinda restarting on a lot of areas but there were still many assets since before, and I believe this was regarding the campaign, the MP didn’t have the same issues.
Either way, Halo 2’s development destroyed lives. I wouldn’t ask any devs to aim for that type of horrible crunch.
OP… this is misleading.
Halo 2 started development immediately when Halo CE saw great success.
Halo 2 went through multiple versions during development, script designs, changes, and even when they went to the final script, the game had to still be entirely scrapped to fix the engine to even be workable.
Then they went about to developing the final version of the game and even then they had to cut out content as Microsoft pushed for a 2004 deadline rather than letting Bungie postpone the launch and make the game complete.
As a result, the campaign lost about 6 missions in Act I and Act II, with Act III being entirely cut, edited, and then turned into Halo 3.
Halo Infinite didn’t start development immediately after Halo 5. It only started development after Halo Wars 2.
And then with Covid happening to slow and halt production, the dev team being under staffed was an issue that was now amplified.
All while they again had to modify the same Blam! Engine to make it into the Slipspace Engine, restore the art style, and design a new script after throwing out the trash that Brian Reed wrote up as his follow up to the fan-fiction that is Halo 5.
You want an answer OP?
343 is understaffed and doesn’t want to advertise it outright. Due to the changes to the series in recent years, the staff itself is also divided on how to produce and proceed with the game’s development; which further slowed production.
These factors all combined together lead up to Halo Infinite releasing to be the broken mess it is right now.
And honestly? I don’t blame them. I just blame them for copying Fortnite’s marketing scheme of a Free-To-Play Multiplayer, 95% of cosmetics being locked behind a steep shop system, and a PvE story that is locked behind a paywall.
It would be less annoying if they copied the money-strategies of Halo 5 Guardians’ REQ Packs and combined them with Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s dual-shop system of Erewhon and the pre-menu shop.
