So I was going to setup a dedicated server and needed to manually patch it but when I went to the website that hosts the patches it just redirects to halowaypoint. Any wise and all knowing 343 staff that can elaborate on why this is happening.

Why would you want the newer patches? They disable sword flying and other glitches which make the game much more fun.
… No thats not what they do…
Well support for the game ended last year and the servers almost went down in February so I assume they’re killing the game behind the scenes now. Or they want waypoint to be the only official Halo site, look at halowar.com and how they pretty much killed it. The fans saved the site and stats but the forums were killed off, not to mention halo3.com as well. Now halowayoint.com is the only living so to speak official site left.
