Since Vista is going offline next month does that mean we won’t be able to get the achievements for it anymore?
You will be able to get any achievement for offline/ single player. Only the online achievement will be non-unlockable. The reason why is because 343i will be shutting down the servers (like when you see the server list) the GFWL will most likely still work. I don’t think Microsoft has anything to do with Halo 2 being shutdown. It is all 343i’s responsibility.
Because I have no idea how this works, I’m just gonna say: Can’t they just convert the game into the same gamespy system Halo 1 PC has? It can’t be that hard can it?
Idk. I feel like that would require more work and “funding” to do that. If you think about the big picture why would a big company like 343 spend all the time, effort, and money into saving a game from “life support”. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Halo 2 on the PC. It is a lot of fun. But at the end of the day, you need to realize that it is an old game and if the company decides they no long want/can support it then the service will be dropped. Sad but that is how business works.
Yes you but can just only offline stuff. Also I’m sure someone will find their own way to make a master server eventually. Kind of like Alteriwnet did with MW2. But they’ll have to remove GFWL client to get it to work.
I’m thinking about buying it for the single-player, but I’m afraid that it doesn’t work on Win 7. Anyone got it working?
