Halo 2 Vista - Is it possible to get achievements?

I couldn’t specify exactly which achievements due to exceeding the title limit. I have around five online achievements left to get and I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to connect to other people outside of a LAN party to get them?

Halo 2 Vista was actually one of the first games to feature achievements in the series, although they currently are not saved to Halo Waypoint as far as I am aware. Considering that H2V used Games For Windows Live, which has been discontinued, it’s highly unlikely that any achievements you get will be saved anywhere other than in the game itself. You could always open up a word processing program and list your achievements (at least in the campaign) when you get them and mark down the time and date of each one. That way you at least have something to show for it.

Plus, with the online servers for H2V being taken down officially in 2015, I’m afraid there’s no way for you to “officially” find anyone outside of a LAN party. However, since H2A uses H2V as a base for itself, you can technically get the majority of those achievements by playing the MCC version of Halo 2 classic multiplayer.

GFWL Still connects your profile. The marketplace was discontinued, as was direct support for it. Halo 2’s servers specifically are what are down. Halo Waypoint does not track H2(V) stats at all however, it only grandfathered the original Halo 2’s basic stats over.
In essence, you can still get achievements for the game, yes, however online achievements are currently legitimately impossible to get outside of some rare cases in LAN.

Oh. I was unaware that GFWL was still functional. I always thought it was simply a required part of the installation package, much like that stupid Gamespy Arcade for Halo 1 on PC.

Is it really possible to get the online achievements? For an example if someone has control or some mod idk to take those achievements and do something with em so they can cheat their way to obtaining the achievements. That just sounded illegal Tbh. I’m just saying if anyone could do some sort of thing like that.

They even deleted them, all GFWL games achievements are gone. I know this because my account had Halo 2 Vista, Gears Of War 1 and a few other GFWL games and when the service went out, all the games and achievements i had in em’ got removed. So no, there’s no way of ever earning them again since even people who did earn them got them removed by Microsoft when GFWL got removed.
