Halo 2 Vista Achieves

Why not incorporate them into Waypoint?

Sorry if this has been asked before, I found nothing relating to it via search.

Someone asked this question at one of the Halofest panels last year. Frankie gave a very vague and non specific answer that I don’t remember right now.

Anyway, for whatever reason, 343 has no intention for integrating Halo 2 Vista into the Halo Waypoint career system. Don’t know why, but that’s the case as it stands.

They don’t want to because it is on the computer, The fact of the manner is that 343 doesn’t want to make it hard to hit max milestone, they don’t even use all the gamerscore on the xbox games.

Computer or not, people who proved they had Halo CE on PC got something in Reach. I don’t really see your reply as being a valid reason.

It’s not my opinion, it’s 343’s. I personally do want halo 2V on waypoint.

Well, the only reason you needed a Halo CE confirmation code in Reach was because there was no way to track players from the xbox version of Halo CE.

It’s very likely 343 wants to stick to console Halo games.

The reason for this is, as already explained, that the “Halo 2 Vista” Achievements are the only NON-console achievements in the Halo-series.

Or, to make it even clearer: They are not “XBOX-achievements”, but “Games for Windows-achievements”.

They reason why they show up in your overall achievement-list on XBOXLive, why they even EXIST, is the fact that Microsoft unsuccessfully tried to connect their PC-gaming branche with their XBOX-gaming branche. Thats why Halo 2 Vista came out for “Games for Windows” and contained achievements, which where also visible on a players XBOXLive account.

As I mentioned before, the projekt can not be called a “success”, as we can see, there is no “Halo 3 for Windows PC”, or “Halo Reach for Windows PC”.

Therefore, the Halo 2 Vista achievements are treated as orphans when it comes to the “Halo achievement family” and are not invited to the family celebration (=waypoint).

If you want my guess: The maximum that ever will happen, is a litte extra section for this achievements, comparable to that extra table at some family celebrations where all the unpopular members of the family have to sit. But I do not see any chance for an inclusion of those achievements into the main career.

I would rather have Halo 2 vista, one of the FPS games, on the milestone tracker than friggin RTS Halo wars
