Halo 2 Super Bounce in Halo 4

In halo 2 there were fun glitches called super bounces on every map. I loved using super bounces. If it was possible to create a super bounce in forge where someone would have to crouch into a place and then jump and land on a spot, they would go very high.

In forge, 343 would give you 3 objects to work with. One would be a bounce area where you would place in the spot where the bounce would happen. Second a crouch area where you could put in a crouchable place to be able to perform a super bounce. Last you would be able to change how high someone goes.

There would be an option to turn off or on the super bounces in custom games.

Comment if this would be a good idea or not.

No… facepalm it would be useless with player trait zones

Not. Grav lift + 1 way shield door = super bounce.

Actually, in trait zones, you can only go so high. To be able to perform a super bounce, someone would have to crouch in a crouchable area, which would give them the ability to perform a super bounce.

Basically, in a trait zones you can jump normally from off the ground.

With a super bounce, you have to do something in order to be able to get into a good spot.

Here are some examples of super bounces:

If the only difference between your idea and Trait Zones is the need to crouch versus the need to jump, then your idea sounds kinda pointless. :\

-Yoink!-
just saying…

If you were to use trait zones to get to a good spot, it wouldn’t really work as well as using a super bounce.

In custom games, 343 would give you the option to turn off fall damage and to toggle super bounces.

You would be able to get into a special spot where as people may have trouble trying to to do the jump so you wouldn’t have to worry about people bouncing up and assassinating you.

So basically, the only difference between your idea and Trait Zones is that your idea is less accessible to the game’s population? I don’t see how that makes it better. :\

Super boucing was a glitch in Halo 2 that they never could fix. I can see what you’re saying but a glitch is a glitch. I guess you liked the challenge?

The main idea is to not have any man cannons or gravlifts so people wont know right away how to get up there. It would be best to use to get up in good sniping spots that aren’t seen very well.

Trait Zones would still work well for that purpose.

Depending on how they’re rendered, Gravity Volumes could also work. Their boundaries are shaded blue, but you could probably resize the field so that the boundaries merge into walls and are hidden from view.

I just find doing super bounces more enjoyable than just using a familiar man cannon or using a grav volume out of sight.

If you want to make it more difficult, just throw a few killballs/mines/explosives into the custom trait area so if you go at the wrong angle you get wrecked.

You are not getting the point!

Super Bounces are classic and I think that they should be in Halo 4, but should be used in custom games or in matchmaking games that allow it.

They would make a remake of halo 2 in halo 4 more fun and enjoyable if super bounces were put in.

How are super bounces classic? They were a glitch in one game of the franchise, and not even the first one either!

And I fail to see how super bounces would make the game more enjoyable, could you clear this one up for me and the many others who don’t understand?

Super Bounces give me that nostalgic feeling in Halo 2. If they were in Halo 4 but not abused, meaning not in matchmaking, then it would be awesome.

Trait zones will allow players to simulate them, so they would be redundant.

Superbounces were a fun glitch but totally broke the game. Superbouncing on top of Zanzibar or Headlong was just ridiculous.

They’re called glitches for a reason.

You cannot mimic a super bounce the same way by using a grav volume or trait zone.
