Halo 2 style

I’ve just been watching some youtube videos of Halo 2 MLG and it really brought back the memories. Real quick, please no hate, 343i needs to bring back a Halo 2 style multiplayer again. No BR spread and no DMR bloom, just straight BR point and shoot, the way Halo was. No Forerunner Eclipse blah blah blah, we need a 1-50 where 50 being basically unreachable legitimately. That was the way it was in Halo 2 and being a level 30 or higher was very impressive and honestly myself along with thousands of other people out there (maybe more) loved it that way. I have 5 50’s in Halo 3 on top of a 5 Star General (all earned legitimately) and it just doesnt feel right to be able to reach that. I dont even want to get into Reach, it is just a mess. I am a Forerunner soon to be Reclaimer and it is simply because of playing a lot, NOTHING to do with performance and that is not the way Halo should be. This type of ranking system is similar to Call of Duty and it should not be that way. Halo 2 did it’s own thing with gameplay and ranks. Halo and COD are 2 completely different games and it should stay that way. Halo 2 was a one of kind game which literally WAS xbox live back in 2004 - 2006. When people asked for your gamertag, it was already assumed that you guys were going to be playing Halo 2 together, it was the best of the best. Halo was once the most skillful game on the market and I hope to see it return to that this holiday season. If any is doubting me on how much people want Halo 4 to have a Halo 2 style, please go watch any Halo 2 video on youtube and read the comments. Thanks to whoever reads this.

Rather not have to contend with all the insane amounts of autoaim and bullet magnetism that made the Halo 2 BR so overpowered.

All you want is a game that’ll bring back nostalgia. I disagree with this thread completely, I don’t want a remake or remaster, I want halo 4 to be…Halo 4.

um, you are a Major in Halo 3 and a General in Halo Reach… you barely play Halo.

> um, you are a Major in Halo 3 and a General in Halo Reach… you barely play Halo.

And that’s relevant…how? Do come up with a better argument about an unrelated game.

My point is that you clearly do not play Halo often and it is obvious that you are not experienced enough to say something is overpowered. Bullet magnetism?? Try moving side to side, you might dodge a couple shots and maybe it wont feel so “magnetic” LOL

Making assumptions doesn’t make you right. Here is a concept, some folks didn’t have Xbox Live for a big part of Halo 2. Most of us however played frequently at LAN parties and splitscreen at our friends houses who did. And sure, 3,601 games may not seem like a lot to some, but I obviously know the ins and outs of Halo 3.

Also, you don’t need to play over 10,000 games of Halo 2 to know how bad it’s bullet magnetism is. Compare it to Halo: CE and you’ll be in for a real shocker.

> um, you are a Major in Halo 3 and a General in Halo Reach… you barely play Halo.

Oh, I’m sorry my 7 year old Xbox account hasn’t had Xbox Live the entire time just to please you…

I’ve been playing halo since 2001. But I don’t play Halo for its Multi-player. I hate Reach so I could care less about my rank…And my H3 rank has been like that since 2008, why? because Halo 3’s MP is boring.

So, unless you have a valid argument that doesn’t involve bringing in virtual numbers to try and make some kind of point towards me, don’t bother replying. You’ve proved your ignorance enough to me.

Played halo for over a decade, less-so online. I actually have played halo 2 online, and if you saw my GT on Reach, you’d see the H2 symbol.

But I digress. You are trying to say that because I apparently haven’t “Played much Halo”, I am automatically invalid? Yeah buddy, you keep telling yourself that.

wasnt even talking to you

Says the noob with 5 posts.

I have said that same thing so many times. But I mean really people? Why would you want Halo 4 to be anything else other than Halo 4?

It’s a facepalm issue, sadly.

I would love for Halo 4 to be similar to Halo 2. However, if Halo 2 was never shut down I would not care if it is similar or not and I would still be playing Halo 2. As it stands, Halo 3 and Reach are terrible in my eyes.

i agree. halo 2 was far from perfect but it is a perfect example as to what formula actually worked for a xbox live masterpiece. Yea it had it’s flaws ex: standby, mods (flying turrets anyone?) and hackers but with the reach engine modified it would make an excellent model, as an example, to build a game after…

if anything is overpowered it is the Halo: CE pistol. 3 shot kill ?!

Honestly, I just want a game that was as fun as Halo 2. Reach fell very short of that.

I’m sorry to tell you this but nostalgia is nostalgia it cannot be replicated in any way or form if they make halo 4 like halo 2 you will be very disappointed just like CEA if they called that a title other than a remake i would be super upset cause it looked like a brand new game but played like a 10 year old game but its a remake and I love it. the only way you can get that love you felt in halo 2 is to play halo 2 just like if you want that halo 3 feeling you go play halo 3 trust me how much care 343 is showing for this game you will be getting a halo 4 feeling

What the original post is saying: He wants Halo 4 to be similar to Halo 2. 343i won’t make it exactly like H2. H2 was a great game and if H4 was similar to H2, I would love it.
If Halo 4 was to have a 1-50 it should be like H2 were 50 was basically unreachable. That gave the incentive to keep playing to try to improve yourself which halo was always meant to be. A game were the casuals can have fun and a game were the competitive can strive to be better

I completely agree with you OP. I loved H2 MLG, I still play H2 on PC in MLG FFA servers. I hate how Reach changed Halo so much. Halo 4 should be NOTHING like Reach. Halo 4 should be just like Halo 2 and Halo 3. It needs a 1-50 system again, not this stupid progressional crap. It needs the jump height and movement speed and physics from H2 and H3. It also needs that weapon that takes skill back, you know, the BR? I don’t see how they can remove it if Halo 4 is continued from Halo 3.
