Hi, first time here. I just really need some input on what happened to the soundtrack in this game. It was the heart and soul of Halo 2 and without the original music the game just feels flat. I assume it was simply copyright issues, Microsoft’s agreement must have explicitly stated rights to the Xbox release only. But man, what a blow to the game. Is there anything anyone can add? Any sort of catharsis on this grievous wound to the Halo universe?
The anniversary addition looks pretty good, runs a little buggy, bogs down on hardware that handles much newer better looking games with ease. At least it HAS musical scores, but they’re bad by comparison.

The original soundtrack is only a press of the View button away though. The game wouldn’t be a proper remaster if 343i used new graphics and did not add in new audio.

Wow, I hope to GOD you do not actually believe THAT is what Halo 2 originally sounded like. IE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbJ7XnYtprM It is not just a view button away, it’s been entirely removed.

I know what the Halo 2 soundtrack sounds like so I don’t need a link to one of the most memorable songs from it. Last I checked, you could simply push the View button and play the game with classic graphics and classic audio, including the soundtrack. It has not been removed. If that has changed recently, feel free to correct me.

Yeah no, when in classic mode there’s just no soundtrack at all. It’s hollow and boring. There’s like a slightest ting of sound in the background, but it’s like a single note that just won’t die. Not music.
Am the only one with this problem? Have you or have you not played Halo 2 on PC? Cause I just played arbiter again and “Follow” by Incubus definitely doesn’t play.
I only played the cartoonish “updated” version once, it’s terrible IMO. Not halo at all. Silly, over the top, non-sense.
That definitely sounds like a technical issue, because switching works for me. Maybe uninstall and try re-installing it? If the issues persist you may need to head to Technical and post this, because that definitely should not be happening.
