Anybody else want them to bring back the Halo 2 SMG to go with the Battle Rifle? What should it be like, what would set it apart from the vanilla SMG in Halo 5?
The Halo 2 Battle Rifle is pretty much the same as the H5 BR, but with more bullet magnetism and less body shot damage. So, the SMG… maybe they should make it so that it can only be dual-wielded, like the SMGs in Halo: Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike, and have them both controlled by the Right Trigger? Damage and bullet magnetism would have to be adjusted so that the Halo 2 SMGs are not too much more powerful than the regular SMG… what do you think?
I liked the sleek new look of the SMG in Halo 2: Anniversary’s multiplayer, and the new sound effects were good as well. It’d be nice to have them in Halo 5, both for Warzone and as weapons we can add to Custom Games and Forge.
Never a fan of bringing back redundant weapons.
That said I think it would be beneficial to bring back a single weapon that functions like a dual-wieldable weapon in order to throw the people who keep demanding dual wielding a bone.

To be honest I want the halo 3 shotgun brought back, the design and the power were just immense
i’d Like to have both the Halo 2 smg and the Halo 3 ODST smg… Or maybe a Halo 2 smg with all the variants that we have in Halo 5 plus the dual wielding one
If only this would happen… I’d love to see this.
I want Halo 3 something… They did Halo 2 weapons and some Reach crap, wish they’d give us some Halo 3 maps or something.
i just want to see people run with 2 guns in their hands.
I feel like a single halo 5 SMG is better or at best the same as two Halo 2 SMG’s
I’d like a dual SMG req, I don’t see why we can’t use both triggers though. We don’t need to smart scope with the dual weapons.
Smart scope would be disabled during dual wielding and u can now use both triggers
(Or whatever your smart scope button is)
Not to be rude, but the H2 SMG’s were really weak. Without dual wielding, they’d be extremely underpowered if they brought it back with it being true to the original… = A terrible idea…Unless as a loadout weapon, they were automatically dual-wielded and you couldn’t drop one…(or zoom in)

Yea pretty much what I meant above. You wouldn’t be able to drop one smg. You would be stuck with both
Perhaps it could have a slower rate of fire but have slightly more range

Halo 5 SMG is already so awesome though
i would like the brute weapon from halo 3 ( i think it is the spike gun thing) (sorry i cant remember the name, shame on me)

To be fair they were weak because of dual wielding, they either had so be weak when on its own or be over powered when dual wielded, so bungie went with weak on their own. The Halo 2 Br has almost the same ttk as the H5 Br that they’re basically reskins of each other, yes the burst is visually slower but again ttk is almost the same. So adding the H2 SMG, damage+accuracy, wise it would probably end up being identical to the H5 SMG
The halo 2 SMG is a bad weapon and it wouldn’t function much different…
This does not seem like a really good idea when there is several other things that could be very good function inside the game
