So, following my earlier report. I’m giving up on Halo 2 until the game save bug is fixed.
Everyone is jumping on the multiplayer bandwagon, well I’m striking out on my single lonesome broken campaign thread.
Having worked my way through (what I assume is) the majority of the gravemind section, have been booted right back to the start upon loading save point. I don’t have the time or inclination to do it all again. Ten year old gameplay is punishing enough once - even at 60fps (and btw, it was so much more fun the second time when essential assets to the gameplay actually loaded, so maybe this is an enforced feature to make me see what I missed? if so I apologise and thank you) I only played so long last night as had the same bug happen on the previous section. Wanted to get to the end of it to avoid this, but you know? a job, a life and pesky sleep get in the way. So until it’s posted online that this is fixed, I’m done wasting my time.
This is an appalingly bad bug to be in a final release, which spent the bulk of a day downloading an update before I could play it. I’ve recently come back to xbox having had a 360 for seven years (well, 3 red ring first gens and the further purchase of a slim to resolve) and jumped ship to the PS4 after, well… I think we’ve all moved on from last year, so let’s not dig it up again, but this is a really poor end user experience from a first party title. I don’t blame you the developers, we know about the Xmas release insanity (but you know? keep us waiting the rest of the year, because quality games like GTA don’t sell or break records if released in April, or get pushed back for tweaking and then deliver such a rewarding experience for the player, they continue selling months after launch right?) But I’m just a punter, what do I know that Microsoft and Ubi don’t. Thanks for taking my money, I look forward to seeing the final product when it’s ready.
