I am sure everyone here has heard the rumor of 343 possibly remaking Halo 2 in the near future. Since they remade Halo CE, Halo 2 now stands as the only Halo with, (compared to the original) poor graphics and no features like achievements. Seeing as 343 is made up of a group of “Halo fanboys”, there IS a reletively good chance they will release a Halo 2 remake, if not for the 360, for its next generation. I for one hope it will, but the question is if they are going to put time into it, or put all efforts into Halo 5 for 2014.
So, out of my own curiosity, I want to see who wants a remake as badly as I do, so on a scale of 1-10, how likely is Halo 2 to be remade, and when do you think it will release, if you believe it will at all.
I forgot to mention, 1 means no chance, 10 means definite chance.
The extra 11th Halo CEA terminal you can unlock in waypoint definitely hints at it
I hope it does get an HD remake.

Not only that, but they should also bring back the multiplayer (without any changes) as well. If they did that, then it would beat Black Ops 2 on the charts for sure. It would be #1 again guaranteed.

Of course, because most people would like to go back to 2004 in terms of playing.
I can understand people wanting to play Halo 3, but Halo 2 is too old and doesn’t attract people anymore…
343, just remake the campaign and center yourselves in fixing Halo 4’s MP. It has a lot of potential.
Halo 2 Anniversary Edition
Can’t wait, hopefully they make a MM too that plays the same. Although I’m kinda hoping it comes out along with the next-gen Xbox, that way it wouldn’t end up on a console that’s becoming outdated.
Still, it would make my life complete.

Yes, the one thing I didnt like about Halo CEA was tha it piggy-backed on Reach’s multiplayer. I mean- yeah it save them some money in not having to create a new server, but after awhile, they took off its playlists, so you couldnt play any of the maps. Halo 2 needs to include ALL the original maps and its own server.

I’d rather have a spin-off, anyway, though.
Regardless of its likelihood, I’d only be interested if they only updated the textures/shader engine and upgraded to the xbox360’s matchmaking servers. I really didn’t like anything they did with CEA. I would only buy it if they treated it like they were restoring an old film.

Hmm, actually he last I heard of the rumor was that 343 was not currently working anything like a remake, but hat was back in October.

Well then again Halo:CEA was actually remastered by Saber Interactive with supervision from 343.
So 343 might not be working on it but Saber might be.
Might be Halo 2 anniversay in 2014 and Halo 5 in 2015
I remember seeing an interview in Game Informer awhile back that said they didn’t have plans for it. The Halo Anniversary Edition was simply to celebrate 10 years of Halo. They had no intention of remaking Halo 2, but if they did, they would not bring back the multiplayer.
Can’t say I disagree with this. I’m sure they feel that it would take too many people away from Halo 4. I think that’s why we have never seen Halo 2 available on the Arcade.
I’m sure if they DID do the multiplayer as well, it would be filled with armor abilities and custom loadouts. Not like the traditional Halo 2 that we would all like to have back.

Most likely the multiplayer would be the current Halo’s multiplayer.

That was what I thought they would do as well.
I really want a remake, because just last night I had a Halo 2 playthrough, and I would have loved it if I didnt have to deal with the screen freezing in the background. The graphics, compared to Halo CE, actually arent that bad, but I wish it had achievements and all that, because the campaign, after one playthrough, doesnt have much of a reason to play it.
I’d be Ecstatic if they made a Halo 2 remake. It’s one of the Best campaigns and it’d be Amazing. If they made it like Anniversary and made a flashback kind of mappack with it…Including Last Resort than I would be SOO happy. =)

Yes, Turf, Zanzibar, Headlong (again), Blood Gulch, and Pinnacle( or the map that Reach’s representd, ont remember its actual name.)
