hi just wondering why the live and network options are greyed out… i see other people are having the same problem but there isnt any real answer on the web why this is happening. i have windows 8 i moved the mf.dll file into the halo 2 folder and i updated the game…

I was just playing it yesterday with no problems.
You will probably need to reinstall the game.
And make sure you know about the Games for Windows LIVE patch update problem.
You need to make sure you don’t have the updated version of GFWL 3.0
Halo 2 has the old 1.0 and once you install Halo 2 it is suppose to update to the new GFWL 3.0.
If you already have GFWL 3.0 you need to uninstall that. If you have other games that use GFWL idk what will happen. Just don’t run them until you fully update to GFWL 3.0
The first thing I would do is uninstall Halo 2, restart pc, and try to reinstall it. That might fix your problem.
