Halo 2 PC Key activation usage exceeded

Hi

Microsoft Support have directed me to contact 343 directly as my Halo 2 PC CD Key activation usage exceeded, could someone help me ?

Thanks

try these.

  1. Create a New Windows Live ID.
  2. Uninstall the game.
  3. Reinstall the game and during the process of installing use the new windows live Id and check if it’s going to launch the game and you’re able to connect to windows Live without any error.

ATM my pc on windows 7 connect to windows live correctly, but i formated too much this pc and i can’t do more activation on the new pc.

oh i see, since the game usually have some back up activation keys incase you reformat but then as you said you have reformatted it too much and theres no activation keys left.

if you know where is located the file or registry key activation, you mean that think I can transfer it to the new ?

maybe, keep me posted.

edit: i don’t think it will work since the key has been activated already, so you need new activation keys. I’m sorry man.

Hello Seph1603,

I, for one, don’t know too much about Halo 2 PC and its activation key, however, I can only guess is that if your activation key exceeded, your pretty much out of luck. With a standard PC program, its easy b/c you can easily contact whomever (ex. MS Office, if your activation exceeded, you can call up and request one to be removed and re-use that activation key for a different PC). As for gaming, I really am not sure, but you could try contacting 343 regarding that. Unfortunately, due to you saying its Halo 2 PC, I’m not sure if they can do much, but I think they’ll answer your question a little bit better, :D.

Yes xbox support told me to contact 343, that’s i’m trying to do, i don’t really know how to contact them, there is no support section on their website. I was hoping find their support here.

this is their support forum, it just takes time for them to respond.

as far as my knowledge goes on limited activation key drm. I’m pretty sure they can’t do anything.

Sadly, I must agree. Especially with the Master Chief Collection coming out with H2A on it, so most likely they wont, :(.

If they don’t want loose an w8.1 potential buyer, they will ^^

the reason behind having those activation keys is for duplicating and so on. so can’t really blame them if people are trying to illegally copy their games and giving them out for free making them loose potential buyers.

This kind of drm does not exist anymore today, keys are now account linked like steam, origin, uplay. So we can easily blame them for that but it’s not the subject.

How exactly did you contact Microsoft? If you contacted general Microsoft Support, you may not have received as good of an answer if you had contacted Xbox Support. I would try tweeting @XboxSupport or starting a chat at this contact page. Or perhaps calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX. I have heard of others calling Xbox Support and getting a fresh key. I don’t think 343 has keys to give out.

I’ve gone around in circles with Xbox Support before. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find someone who knows the correct answer.

Unfortunately, now that the Games for Windows Live marketplace is shutdown and GFWL is getting less support, it will probably become more difficult to find someone familiar with the issue.

I contacted them by the page you link. I think I will retry

Why not using a keygen?
