Xlink Kai is a program like Xbox Connect that allows you to play games with other players through system link. The Halo 2 server is active with a constant player base of over 400 people. The favorite games in the server are of course BR Slayer/Team Slayer on Lockout, Midship, and Beaver Creek. However when I create games of CTF or KOTH on Headlong, Zanzibar, Turf, or Ascension, within a matter of minutes I have a full party of 16 players.
Below is a link to the Xlink website. There you will find the Xlink Kai program and Setup instructions. Once you’re set up post your tag here so fellow players can add you.
I only played a little bit of Halo 2 (I only got into the series when a friend brought Halo 1 over back in 2007, which blew me the -blam- away) and I really regret not playing it more when I had the chance. I feel like I missed out on a huge part of Halo history.
Halo 2: Anniversary will probably just have a mappack for Halo 4 as its multiplayer, and I tried XB connect but for some reason it wouldn’t “find” my console. I really hope this works.
…come to think of it, can this work with the XBox Originals version of Halo 1 (and play with people who play on the disk)? That would be amazing.
Edit: Holy mother of blam, it works!
Right now I’m having trouble finding serious games (there’s a ton of lag in the system link menu, most of the servers are in Spainish, and often I can only find a handful of maps being played with dumb gametypes where your primary weapon is a sniper while the secondary weapon is random), but it’s a start!
Edit 2: Seriously, why is it that only Latin Americans want to play Halo 2?
The best time play is the afternoon (2 pm to 12 pm EST). I never have trouble finding a good game. Although most games are BR slayer on Lockout and Midship. When I create a game I have no trouble getting people to join and I have played CTF, KOTH, Swat, Juggernaut on all of the maps. If you want to play with me leave your tag and I will add you.
