343i, you really need to re-release Halo 2 on XBLA. I have Halo 2 vista but thanks to no custom resolution support and KB+M being dreadful I can barley play the thing.
If rumors are true (and probably are thanks to common sense) how about you just make a special edition of the Halo 1 remake that includes a DL token for Halo 2 on XBLA. A lot of Halo 2 fans would be very happy to be able to play their favorite FPS again, and you can enhance it a bit with 60FPS and 1080p support and very minimal graphics update (the look of the game was important to us)

I agree, not being able to play Halo 1 and 2 on the X-box through Live has always saddened me (well, recently in terms of Halo 2). I definitely want to see a Halo 1 remake (crossing my fingers the rumors are true) and then a Halo 2 remake a bit after. Personally I don’t want any of the glitches removed. I want it to stay exactly how I remember it but with 60FPS and 1080p support.
Also the Halo 1 remake rumors are probably true. Here is a sum of the events that pretty much prove it.
-Rumor starts but is shot down by Microsoft
-Halo Nemesis screen shots where instantly denied by Frankie on Neogaf
-The same day Frankie commented on the fake Halo Nemesis he didnt comment on the new Halo 1 remake rumor
-Same day Microsoft commented with “We have nothing to annouce at this time” unlike last time where they said no
-New Halo 1 remake rumor done by the Time Shift guys pops up. Frankie despite being an active member on Neogaf does not comment on the thread.

Only if they both have multiplayer. Then, i will be satisfied.
I like the idea, but I doubt it will happen. Prepares for flame I was thinking that they need to make a game similar to Halo 2, but not a remake as much as a new game with a lot of similar qualities. Also bring back some old but newly graphically improved maps/levels. But for the sake of all humanity, please DO NOT make another game that goes back into time. (Move Forward!)

Here is the problem with that though. The maps, the single best part of Halo 2 was the maps. Also this would just be MP and it wouldnt be hard to do a HD port of this since they could just base a large part of it off of Halo 2 Vista, obviously minus the SP.

Nemesis screenshots are obvious shots, and bad ones at that. Although it could be real concept art for something, it still looks terrible and is by no means some sort of in progress image.
I’m not sure of the politics since 343 is a branch of Microsoft, but Microsoft never confirms or denies rumors, 343 may have shot one down, which would still technically be word from Microsoft.
Re-Evolved may happen, but we’ll have to wait and see. Nemesis is a joke, and I don’t need Halo 2 back, Halo 1 is much better and hopefully the remake will have the PC multiplayer so you guys can enjoy it.

On the bungie.net forums I have been trying to re-spark people’s interest and memories in Halo 2.
I loved that damn game so much. 8,334 games after my first, it still wasnt enough.
If they HD ported it, left it the same, brought back the old maps, maybe some new maps and left all the features, EVEN THE Y MENU! I would be so damn happy, as I know many other old school Halo fans would be as well.
Also, it could be alluring to newer (Post Halo2) fans because they never got to experience the greatness that was Halo 2 on Live, it was not just a game, it was a phenomenon.
Everyday since I have heard the Halo:CE remake rumors on joystiq I go on the forums with the hope that new info has surfaced with possibilities of a CE XBL debut, which would hopefully lead to a H2 Re-Emergence.

Yes, Please 343i! It would make so many fans so happy =), I mean i understand that they’re trying to push in a new direction, but hopefully they could get the help to do this for CE and H2. It’d be really nice for a lot of the younger crowd that started in H3, because honestly, H2 online was probably the best gaming experience of my life, and CE’s LAN parties and campaign are unbeatable.
Oh and! The new map pack looks awesome, i may have to get back on Reach for the first time in a few weeks once it comes out, I really like the direction that 343i is going and creating partnerships with CA (whose founder is Max Hoberman, MP Design Lead for H2), I can only see good coming from things like this. And i know if we can get a return to fundamental Halo with real improvements, it will grow back into the beast that had a grip on console gaming.
One more thing, thank you 343i if you see this, for giving a Halo fan since 2001 a renewed sense of hope in the franchise, especially if the CE remake rumor proves to be true. I appreciate the hard work you guys and gals have been putting into this franchise and the tight bond you guys share with the community( Waypoint is a great example of this ).
I would be amazed if they did a remake of Halo 1. If they remake Halo 2, then they’re probably gonna do Halo 3, ODST, and Halo Reach. Really, the halo franchise needs to keep moving forward. Not back and forth, and side to side.

These remakes are a must. You’ll see after the only people left playing Reach are armor locking try hards. Halo 1 greatest single player ever. Halo 2 greatest Multiplayer ever and Halo 1 could have gave it a run for it’s money had it been on Xbox Live.
