hello fellow waypointers,
what I noticed this loop hole in halo 2 spoilers ahead so you are warned
in the last part of halo 2 we see that the master chief enters a covenant ship and goes to earth while Miranda keyes and sgt Johnson are still in halo with arbiter fighting tartarus . so how the heck did sgt. Johnson, arbiter and Miranda keyes reach earth before Master chief as in the last cutscene of halo we see master chief near earth and ends the game with that killer dialogue “to finish this fight”. also we see that the human ship (I keep forgetting the name of the ship in which the master chief travelled) crashed into high charity.everybody can give their opinions and are free to tell what might had happened.

yeah they might have hitched a ride but the MC reached earth first so it does not matter how fast they were.

I’ll just add some details: November 7: Truth’s Dreadnought arrives in the Sol system, though where has not be specified. It continues toward Earth at relativistic speed. Inside the Forerunner ship, Master Chief prepares to make an assassination attempt on the last remaining Hierarch. Some date prior to November 17: Miranda, Johnson, and the Arbiter return to the Sol system and land on earth. Johnson is briefly given clearance to talk with Vergil, a Huragok captured by ODST squad Alpha 9 a month before. November 17: The Dreadnought enters Earth’s atmosphere. John-117 breaks off and re-enters riding a door from the ship. UNSC forces in Afghanistan track his decent as he eventually lands in Kenya. Then Halo 3 begins.
yea what toa said. basically from what i remember, miranda/johnson/arbiter jumped straight to earth while the dreadnaught jumped to the sol system further out so that truth could land when the portal generator was properly uncovered and most of earths defenses were gone.

That, and he had to take care of the Demon that was gunning for his life.
