Halo 2 Legendary Campaign Advice

Okay, if you’ve played even a minute of Halo 2 on Legendary, you know it’s a major pain in the -Yoink-.
For me, a guy whose Halo skill extends to Grifball and little else, it’s a million times worse. I couldn’t even get close to beating Cairo Station.
So, this topic should be fairly obvious. What do I do? How do I progress? The Elites haunt my dreams…

Best way that I have found is to look up YouTube walkthroughs of each of the levels on legendary. Probably the best kind of walkthroughs are the speed run videos, as they show you quick and easy tricks and techniques to accomplish seemingly daunting levels.

Hope this helps and good luck in your ascension to legendary!

No worries! Also you can head over to the Recruiting Forum to see if others are wanting to do a legendary co-op run through which is also very helpful. Best of luck!

The Plasma Pistol is your best friend! It’ll be the easiest way to take down Elites and you’ll need to learn through trail and error. The Jackal Snipers almost never miss and the brutes are EXTREMELY aggressive. Walkthroughs are also helpful. If you get frustrated, stop playing for a bit to calm down. Halo 2 is THE hardest to beat on Legendary, Co-op is no easier because every time someone dies you have to go back to the last checkpoint. Take your time, NEVER pass up a chance to use a weapon until the ammo is spent, and keep a Plasma Pistol on you or close by at all times

My advice to you is to watch each missions from mythic tyrant legendary walkthrough on youtube, it help me on halo reach, halo wars, halo 4, and which he covers all halos on legendary heres the link to his channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_oo6LgR8lagcqVngIsxwSg

Honestly noob combo + remembering where things spawn will get you through just about everything in Halo 2 legendary. FYI the first room of Gravemind will be the bane of your existence.

I never found the first room on Gravemind that hard…sure I got spawn killed 2 times but the 3rd time I just needled the brutes and picked up the ammo. I camp up in the room behind the rows of seats up above and only go down when I need ammo…it’s easy compared to delta halo’s “Off the rock, through the bush, nothing but jackal” segment where there’s 4 jackal snipers , a bunch of drones and a lot of frustration.

Hiding behind cover until your shields recharge and the noob combo are your best friends. swords and shotguns for flood. invisibility to sneak past enemies as arby. Much of Halo 2 is RNG based (Random Number Generator). This makes the AI (enemies in the campaign) seem more real and act as you would expect them to, and not like unbeatable gods. It also means that if you are just trying to run past enemies, the RNG might kill you 99 times in a row, but on that 100th try, the bullets or enemies eyes will miss you just enough for you to sneak past.

There are also countless speed running tricks you can implement to make this easier. Walking on rooftops in outskirts, grenade jumping to the scarab early in metropolis, getting stuck under the elevator in oracle gives you invincibility the rest of the level, the ghost launch in Delta Halo, the god despawn in regret (this one is pretty darn difficult and you’ll have to look it up).

Gravemind is hard as nut sack, good luck, youll want to die at the end of this one, uprising is short to begin with and you can get outside the level to make it even easier, not really any tricks on high charity but its not too difficult anyways, and by the time you get here you will probably be pretty good at legendary. Then you can get the spectre in the final battle in great journey and clone Johnson. its easy stuff if you do it right.
