Halo 2 LAN co-op keeps disconnecting at same spot

As the title says, I am trying to play Halo 2 Co-op over the same network with 2 different Xbox’s (yes I know I can just do splitscreen, that’s not the point). I’m not sure if it’s the level itself or the playlist, but we’re trying to complete the Halo 2 Fan Favorites playlist. We played the first 3 levels fine but the 2nd player always had a desyncing issue that never lasted more than 2 seconds once in a while. We got to The Great Journey, and after 3 attempts the game disconnects at the exact same spot, every time. It’s right when you clear the platform of Brutes and it initiates the cutscene with the Arbiter and Johnson. It plays for half a second and just ends the session, kicking both players and disbanding the party.

For the record, the first Xbox (host) is using a wired connection to the router, whereas the 2nd is using a wireless connection to the same router. Both have NAT set to open. It doesn’t matter if MCC is set to LAN or not, it disconnects either way.

Did you ever figure this out? I have been unable to get through halo 2 with same network co-op due to de-syncing and I cannot find anything to fix it.

Thanks

No, but I have recently discovered an issue when using 2 Xbox’s on the same network, which may have been causing the issues. Apparently you can’t have 2 devices occupying the same network port, so a way to get around this is to use Static IP on your network, and make sure the ports for each Xbox are forwarded.
