Just came here to say happy 15th birthday to one of the best games ever made, Halo 2. I’ve been on a nostalgia trip all day watching old E3 videos lol. It meant so much to me in my teenage years. Those of you who lived through the hype know what I mean. Wish I could play it again.
As you were.
I played it yesterday on the Original Xbox on a CRT tv to get those feels. Still one of the best games ever made for sure!
Halo 2 is already 15 years old? Wow. I remember it being new like it was yesterday.

How big was Halo 2?

This was one of the most hyped and played games of all time. I didn’t care much for it, was more on the Half-Life side of the fence, especially since Half-Life 2 came out that same November (Addendum: there was a huge rivalry between HL and Halo at the time that lasted for years before it finally died down and most people have come to accept the differences between them and acknowledge both are great FPS in their own right and for what they have done for the industry, for better or worse), but I can tell you that almost everyone I knew offline and on had at least an inkling or meaty -Yoink!- for Halo 2. People played it right till the dead second the servers finally shut down in April of 2010. I was 12 when it came out, now that I think about it. Stop time now pls.
Sad, I missed the day to celebrate it, but Halo 2 was my all time favorite of the series. Happy to have the series back on PC, and looking forward to its re-release.
Bought it at midnight with a group of 20 people.
Was the first game for matchmaking halo. It was a unique experience and time.
With the exception of halo 3, every other halo game didnt have the hype levels.
