I have no proof on this, however I believe this year there will be a small teaser at E3 announcing a Halo 2 remake for 2013.

2 years in advance? No. I’d expect an HD port w/ online support in celebration of Xbox Live’s 10th anniversary.
If it took them 2+ years to make HCEA and redo every aspect of the campaign, in HD, and add co-op online, then it wouldn’t take them but a year just to port Halo 2 in HD and turn it’s online services back on. Also, HCEA was finished 7 months ago and they could’ve started Halo 2 right after they finished it so we might expect a Halo 2 release this year alongside Halo 4.

I would think they would not announce anything about H2 before H4 or even after for about 6 months. It just seems that any announcement would be shooting themselves in the foot until after H4 is going strong. I still believe they will do the remake and release it on Nov 9th 2014 or close to it.
I would have been more excited if they showed Halo 4, and confirmed a remake for the best online video game in history Halo 2.

Still a couple more days left of E3. Everything doesn’t happen in the first day, just most of it.
the week is still young, we might see a halo 2 remake.
I just want 343 to focus on the Reclaimer Trilogy.
Frank O’Connor of 343 Industries, formerly of Bungie Studios said Halo 2’s ending was originally not suppose to end with you killing Tartarus. That 3 more levels had been planned but scrapped due to time constrants. These levels were suppose to take place on the Forerunner ship. I hope 343 Industries gives Halo 2 the HD treatment with these levels added in. It would make the end of Halo 2 and the beginning of Halo 3 fit together better
If Halo 2 does get the remake treatment, expect it to hit shelves November 9, 2014, exactly 10 years after the original was released.
