What things would you like to see brought back from halo 2 for this installment? could be anything from gameplay mechanics, maps, etc.
idc what kind of flac i get from this but…
-button glitches (these were awesome and you know it. added so much more depth and complexity to the gameplay and helped it be even more competitively awesome)
-super bounces (honestly, who hasn’t super bounced in halo 2 in a custom?)
-the ability to get outside/on top/under maps in customs (this was so much fun and i practically wasted a year doing this)
-Tower of Power (do i need to say more?)
-Midship, burial mounds, warlock
this is an unattainable wishlist and will probably never happen…but a nerd can dream cant he?
Maps (Lockout specifically, black out doesn’t count, it’s a re imagining not a remake)
The clan system
Button combos
Everything else that would be worth carrying over is already confirmed to be in H4 (fast movement and hitscan no spread BR).

fast movement acceleration for effective strafing.
fast killtimes
A sword that can be drawn in less than a second, combined with a lack of sprint
the beam rifle
the maps: sanctuary (and I mean sanctuary, not asylum ><), midship, lockout, turf, warlock…
rockets locking on to ALL vehicles, and much more effectively.
The banshee physics. I remember being a banshee master, because it was so easy to fly, and it didn’t have an overpowered fuel rod gun instant kill bomb.
the lack of custom loadouts and AA’s
I also miss dual wielding needlers, however this should NOT be in Halo 4. The needler works perfectly in H3 and in Reach.

Watch some pro Halo 2 gameplay, you will see people punching like 3 times within a second, or firing a double BR burst (6 bullets). They do this by using button combos, basically a glitch in the game. I’ve never done it, but they call it BXB, so i assume they were able to land two successive melees just by pressing the reload button in between.

yep! ohhhhh those were the days. there was bxr (melee, reload, shoot)…bxb (melee, reload, melee)…double-shots (i think it was yyr?)
a lot of people hated on it, but if you took the time to master them it made the game a total blast and soooo competitive.
if you have halo 2, seriously try it out…so much fun
I love Halo 2, and H4 should definately take some clues from that game. But like I said: clues, not 1-on-1 taking of elements.
Some things I like to see return are:
The bigger, deeper scale of the campaign that H2 had.
More interactive maps (look at all those maps with gates which could be opened, the train on Terminal, Zanzibar etc) in areas that feel “lived in” something H3 onwards maps missed.
Clans
It’s not overly dominant BR compared to the rest of the weaponry.
People actually working together as a team (not like that’s going to happen…but still)
Oh God, if Button Glitches and Superbounces were in Halo 4 it would ensure that I never buy it - at least not on launch day and certainly not new.
I think Halo 2 had some of the best maps in the entire series. I’d love to see Waterworks, Headlong, Terminal and maybe even Zanzibar make a return. Also, how awesome was BTB on Lockout? You know it was awesome, I kind of liked BTB on smaller maps just for the sheer anarchy that ensued.
I’d prefer to have the Halo 2 Gauss Hog - which actually took some degree of skill to use, rather than having the Halo 3/Reach incarnations, which were just ridiculous.
