Halo 2 for vista trouble

I just got Halo 2 for windows vista and i’m running it on widows 7.Everything works fine, except when i go into multiplayer the sound stops working

Any suggestions on how to fix this. Any and all help will be much appreciated.

Edit: the problem has stopped on it’s own

You may need to update the drivers for your sound card. Go to your Device Manager and see if there are any yellow markings next to your devices - more specifically your sound devices. If so, you need to update them. If not, I’d say do it anyway.
